Hi Everyone!

***UPDATE: WE ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED FOR THIS RALLY, ALL 25 SPACES HAVE BEEN RESERVED! SORRY, THERE ARE NO MORE SPACES AVAILABLE AS JACKSON RANCHIERIA HAD A DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS.

Our "2009" Fall Rally at Jackson Rancheria is now set for the dates above. I've had to plan this far in advance because the park has become so popular since they opened a year ago. The RV park has already been booked for this holiday weekend with 2 other RV groups. We have 25 spaces. Those of you who were there last year for our first Rally know what a wonderful place this is! Since most of the park has been booked, most of our spaces will be back-ins and I have the pull-thrus for the larger rigs.

We all had such a great time last year, so let's do it AGAIN!!! :)

This is a beautiful and clean RV park w/full hook-ups. They offer free 24 hr shuttle to the Casino. Swimming pool, spas, free laundry (supply your own soap), free coffee & hot chocolate, clean bathrooms/hot showers, nice walking path around the RV park, dog park & store/gas station nearby.

Agenda for the Rally and Menu list (which shows what everyone is bringing for the Appetizer & Dinner Potlucks) has been post, go to the end of this Thread to view it! Please let me know what you plan to bring for the Potlucks. We'll be having a Meet & Greet gathering w/munchies, Appetizer Pot-luck, Dinner Pot-luck, games & Raffle drawings.

Hello everyone,

There are some things you need to know about our upcoming Fall Rally, especially for those who have never been to a Rally. It looks like we're going to have a great turn-out and we're looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new HL owners and spending this wonderful weekend with you. I thought this would be helpful so that everyone knows what we're planning. So, please read this carefully. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

PLEASE...If any of you can help out at our rally with setting up tables out on lawn area, selling raffle tickets, BBQing at the Dinner Potluck, decorating the tables @ Clubhouse for Sunday nite, clean-up, etc. I would appreciate the help very much! With almost 50 people attending, Art & I can't do it by ourselves. Group participation is what makes this rally successful and memorable.

RAFFLES - We are having 2 raffles. One for each night of our Potlucks. PLEASE help support us as the money we make helps to fund rally expenses.
Saturday night following the Appetizer Potluck, we will be having a 50/25/25 Raffle drawing. Tickets can be purchased during the pot-luck @ 1/$1.00, 6/$5.00, 13/$10.00. All tickets sales will be divided, 2 winners will each win 25% and 50% goes to help rally costs.
On Sunday night following our Potluck Dinner we will have a GIFT RAFFLE drawing. I'm asking each rig to donate a gift worth at least $15. for this Raffle. We will be selling tickets and raffling off the prizes and there is no limit on how many prizes you can win. Please bring your donated 'unwrapped' gift to my rig any time during the rally so we can gather them up and place them on the gift table prior to our Dinner. Tickets can be purchased during the pot-luck @ 1/$1.00, 6/$5.00, 13/$10.00.

Name tags - Every member and their guest attending the rally will be given a name tag and it is important that you wear it at all times during the rally. This is for the purpose of identifying rally attendees and also helps us to get acquainted with those we don't yet know. If you are caught without wearing your name tag, you will be fined $1.00 each time. Funds collected goes for rally expenses.

"GIFT STEALING GAME" ON FRIDAY NIGHT
This is a FUN game and everyone is a WINNER! For those that would like to participate in this game, EACH person must bring a gift worth at least $10.00 (NEW, nothing used). PLEASE place it in a brown paper grocery bag and bring it with you to the 'Meet & Greet & Get Aquainted" gathering. The more people we have that participate, the more fun we have playing the game. (we played this game at last years' rally and it was lots of fun).

SATURDAY APPETIZER POT-LUCK - This will be a hearty appetizer meal. EACH rig should bring a substantial appetizer dish to share with everyone (examples - finger sandwiches, quiches, fruit and veggie platters, bean dip/chips, cracker n cheese trays, deviled eggs, crockpot chili beans or meatballs, etc.) Bottled water will be provided. Following the appetizer, we'll be having the 50/25/25 raffle drawing.

SUNDAY DINNER POT-LUCK - Each rig should bring a MAIN DISH, SALAD (FRUIT ,VEGGIE OR PASTA) OR DESSERT to share with everyone. Bottled water will be provided. Following Dinner, we'll be having the Gift Raffle.

We have 14 rigs pulling into the RV park on Thursday. I have nothing planned for this day. There are alot of things do in the surrounding areas of the Gold Country. Or you can just relax or explore this beautiful RV park or take the free shuttle to the casino.

FRIDAY, OCT 9th
3:00pm - check-in.

3 - 4:00pm - After setting up your rig, stop by to pick up your Welcome packet and name badges. We will be in site #32, look for the HEARTLAND banner.

4:00pm - "Meet & Greet & Get Aqainted" gathering at lawn area near our site. Please come join us this evening where you can meet new members or get reaquainted with the ones you haven't seen in awhile. We'll put out some munchies. You may bring a snack/munchies to share with everyone (chips, nuts, cookies, baked goodies or anything yummy & edible)

5:30pm - We're playing the "GIFT STEALING GAME"!

SATURDAY, OCT 10th
3:00 pm - Social Hour BYOB Bring your lawn chairs and meet out on lawn

Glad we checked email because Ross would like to play golf too. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Have been on a road trip for a couple weeks to Zion, Bryce, Page (Antelope...Slot Canyons), Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Canyonlands and Arches Nat'l Park today. Each place has been spectacular. And what a great time of the year for visiting Nat'l Parks. Not so crowded, plus the weather has been mild and the fall colors are starting to show in Colorado. Starting to head back west tomorrow, including a few days in Eastern Oregon to visit Ross's brother.

See you all soon.

Ross will enjoy golfing. Thanks for fitting him in.

We are now home after 20 days of travel. Passed on Oregon this time because it was too far out of the way. Anyway, at this point we're kind of in great vacation overload. So much fun. Loved the Nat'l Parks and found wonderful RV resorts along the way. It's the 1st time we've done an impromptu trip and it was nice to be able to just stop if something looked interesting. That worked out well because several places we stayed longer. Each location had WiFi so I'd use www.rvparkreviews.com (http://www.rvparkreviews.com) to find the next destination. So many good tips like best space to request, best location for wifi, places to eat, etc. Also whenever we'd get to an area we'd check out trip advisor for the best places to eat, things to do,etc.

Looking forward to seeing you all next week. Not sure exactly how early in the day we'll get there because we may have company stopping.

We're in space #32, which is located at the back end of the park (where all the Airstreams were last year). GREAT weather for the weekend and it'll be lots fun with all that I've planned for everyone! Have a safe flight and we'll see you tomorrow!

Teresa, we are here tonight. Kevin and Hennie are here. Not sure but there is a couple with a Sundance here that came 2 days early and a BH pulled by a dark grey Ford that came in after we did.

Yes JB we are all waiting for your "highness" to arrive. Coming by magic carpet or airplane?

Hi everybody who is having a great time in Jackson at the rally. Debbi and I just want to wish you all a great time and we wish we were there sharing in on the fun, but my body refused to heal in time. You will all have a blast especially having Teresa and Art throwing the shebang. Say to everyone for us, and hope to see many of you in Buellton for the SoCal rally in November.

Hi to all the people we met up in Jackson on Saturday!

I have to tell you - y'all are an exceptionally bad influence. We just came up for the day to see if there were any North Trail owners around who could advise us on our recently-purchased but not-yet-delivered North Trail 28RLS. No such luck. Instead there was mile after mile of Bighorns, with an occassional LandMark and some SOBs.

We did stop and talk with Art and Teresa and Jim and Jim and Lucy and Bo and Bob and quite a few others. The last words we heard as we left the RV park and headed for the casino for some chow was "If you want to trade your North Trail for a 5th wheel, now is the time to do it." We didn't know then how prophetic those words were.

After leaving the Rancheria we headed back down the hill to our home in Sacramento. On the way I thought we would stop by the dealer from whom we ordered our NT. It was due within the next few day, so I thought we could get a status report.

Instead we got a Landmark Grand Canyon!

Sitting there on the lot was a brand new, recently arrived rig. I jokingly told the manager that we weren't interested in the North Trail after seeing all the nice units up in Jackson. Ooops. Judy went out to look at the units on the lot and was blown away with the Grand Canyon! I said we shouldn't get a rig like that unless we sold our house and went full-timing again. She said "OK!"

After I got back up off the ground we started seriously talking with the manager. He did us real well, and wasn't sorry at all to apply our deposit to the Landmark instead of the North Trail. Done deal!

Yesterday we went out and bought a 2007 F350 diesel dually to pull our new home with. We'll be hitting the road full time starting at the beginning of the year. Meanwhile we hope to get a spot at Buellton and will see many of you bad influences again!

Doug and Judy,
OMG! Wow - good for you. NT was a great choice but if that new GC suits you better, great. Now, show it off by joining us in Buelton in a couple weeks!
