Has anyone installed a transmission temperature gauge on cummins diesel six speed transmission and if so how hard is it?

It's not that hard, if you know what you are doing, before you start.

But, not to sound like a complete "cheese whiz", if you have to ask this question, Take it to a mechanic and tell him what you want done.

Now, ask me how I know.

It is not a bad install. Very much the same as the install on the older 48RE transmission. If you go to http://www.genosgarage.com they can help with all of the items needed to install correctly. If you have a decent set of tools and can follow the supplied instruction you can handle it. If you have any additional questions/problems PM me and I will try to help.

Have you looked at a Scanguage? It simply plugs into your OBDII port and will provide you with a wealth of information in addition to the transmission temperature.

Simply plug and play and probably a lot cheaper that the actual guage you are looking at after installation costs
