Broken glass in door window

We were caught in a bad hail storm in Marble Falls, TX Wednesday and had a lot of damage. The question I have is about the glass in the door window. It broke just like regular glass not safety glass. The glass company in town said it's against the law for them to install anything but safety glass. They did cut me some glass similiar to what was in there, but I had to install it myself. Should I have safety glass reinstalled or is there a reason this type of glass is used.

Jim, give the factory a few days to reply due to the weekend. I have a feeling that the glass company normally does residential doors and I don't think there is a requirement or code for RV windows like there is for homes. Some folks replace their door windows with a decorative stained glass from this link http://www.rvstainedglass.com/

I had a window break in my previous SOB RV and I went to Home Depot got a piece of Plexiglass, cut it to size and installed it in place of the glass. It worked better than the glass. You might think about doing that. It worked great.

I wish mine would get broken out...I'd replace it with a gun port.
