Replacement Toilet Seat

The original plastic seat on our SeaLand toilet was getting annoyingly creaky and squeaky. I replaced it with a Bemis brand enameled wood seat I got at Home Depot. Very nice and very quiet.

We replaced ours with a "slow close" by Bemis. It really nice and is a perfect fit & color match. The only problem I have is when I go to use the facility in some body else's trailer or house, I have to remember to set the lid down gently. Every once in a while I'll just drop the lid & seat together and it "slams" down real loud then I get asked, what happened in there.:eek:

We found the padded seat a more confortable option. They are usually around $10-$15 at the big box hardware stores. We did recently see one with palm trees - would be a nice decorating touch!
