Freezer not freezing and ice maker not making ice

How does a person make the freezer colder and why would the ice maker just stop working. I am hooked up to 50 amp and have plenty of water.

Big Al, We could use a few more details. Is this the first time you've used the fridge? How long have you had your rig? Is your fridge one on the recall list? Is the lower half cold? How cold? Are you on LP or AC? It could be a tripped GFI in the bathroom. There could be a variety of reasons but usually the freezer doesn't fail all alone. Excess frost build up in the freezer will reduce it's efficiency as will excess frost on the fins in the back of the fridge. Try going to the Dometic website to determine if your fridge is one on the recall list. It may have a bad cooling unit. The recall doesn't fix anything but it prevents major damage in case of a fire in the heating element.

Glad we were abe to help Al. When we were in Corpus Christi we had to defrost about every 2 weeks. Since we've been up north, it's been a month and we're not even close to needing it. Another tip. According to the owners guide, keeping the door open too long and too often attributes to faster frost build up. In other words, open the door, grab a beer and get out.
