Water Heater Tip

For those who are having problems with their water heaters, here's one more thing to check. The electronics module on the back of the heater. It's stuck onto the insulation around the tank with an adhesive pad, which may or may not actually adhere. If it shakes loose, the plug can come out of the module. Had this happen on our previous TT and it was the last thing I checked. Fortunately, the tank was under the kitchen sink.

On our 3670, I was back in the basement today and noticed that the module had a big strip of masking tape holding it in place...barely. The paper release for the adhesive pad on the back of the module had not been removed. As I attempted to remove the backing and secure the module, the whole pad popped off and fell down into the holes cut for the drain pipes...never to be seen again. So I secured the module with new, better tape.
