Gray water smell from W/D

Hi there,

We have a 2010 model 3850 with the W/D in the bedroom closet. Quite often we get a bad sewer or gray water smell in the camper that appears to come from the W/D unit. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a pee-trap in this plumbing? Or can we put a valve of some sort in the plumbing to eliminate this problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks much,

You should have a pee trap, problem is problemly no water is in it to stop smell. You will have to refill every couple of months if you do not use washer....

When washing you probably leave the gray tank drain valve open. If you do not close it after you wash the sewer vapors can 'backfill' the drain line allowing the smell to enter the coach. Close the drain valve and you will probably find the smell will go away. And yes there should be a pee trap in the line but the water in it will evaporate if the washer is not used periodically.
