Dual Pane Window Issue - spots inside the panes

The past weekend, as we were sitting at the dining table, I noticed the window seemed dirty, so I asked hubby to go out and clean it, which he did. I cleaned the inside at the same time....

But... it didn't come clean! I thought he missed the outside, he was telling me it was on the inside. We finally came to to conclusion that the spots we were seeing were indeed on the inside - but between the two panes of glass. I don't remember the window being like that previous to the weekend.

Has anyone else ever had a similar problem?

Just the one window? Sounds like the seal for your thermal window may be compromised allowing condensation to form. Nothing you can do if this is the case other than replace. They typically are gas filled.

After having dual pane windows, I found that they are too much of a problem. My present trailer does not have them and I am very glad. Although, I shade the windows as much possible and I don't believe dual panes are much better with the sun. After paying big bucks for that option and big bucks for repairs, I found that I can use that money better else ware I don't think the RV industry has mastered that technology well enough for windows that travel on roads in the USA. they work fine for homes that don't move but not RV's

RV dual panes are not gas filled like the one's in your home. They are simply two panes of glass with only air space between. If you open a sliding window you can look at the edge and see they are not sealed.

I suspect moisture has been trapped between the layers at some point.

That said, we have had our present rig with dual panes for four years. We fulltimed in it for three years. We have never had any problems with our windows and would purchase them again. I do feel they are superior to standard single pane windows. Trace

Three years now full time. Dual panes are great! We've had single, now dual and feel they are well worth the price. I too would be bummed if inside panes were spotted.

We have dual pane windows on our 2006 Landmark/Golden Gate and we have been to Alaska and Florida as well as everywhere in between with no problems. Further the coach has 90,000 miles on it, we have traveled on some very rough roads, no problems so far. I would not be without dual pane windows.

I live and travel where the temperature range from 20 deg F to 110 deg F and have no problem living without dual pane windows.

Are you sure you don't have dual panes?

I know that anything helps in extreme temps, but more importantly, I think that quiet is one is the most important features of the dual pane windows. I know they are effective when it comes to yapping dogs.

If the windows are not sealed and nitrogen filled like residential windows, then it should be easy to disassemble them and clean them. I said easy I did not say anything about time consuming......

I'm new to the forum and haven't bought my Bighorn yet, but I have a '95 Bounder with dual pane windows that fogged up between the panes. There are several companies that can dismantle, clean, and reassemble them. I was in Central Florida in 2010 and had mine repaired by Suncoast Designers in Hudson, FL.
