Garage queen bed modifications

Just picked up a new Road Warrior 362 a couple weeks ago. Has anyone modified the upper queen bed rail system to allow it to be pinned at a functional height, and still use the lower bed as a functional table / benches?

Any tips or ideas are appreciated.

In addition to the factory pin heights, I put additional holes to pin it at 32" from ceiling for storage space...

Additionaly I removed the factory stops and enlarged the holes that were there at around 36" to use as a bed at that height rather than 5ft in the air...

That height is not conducive for older people or small kids in my opinion...

The lower bunk is usable for a small child at this height but not as a couch...

It's usable either way when the top bunk is pinned 32" from ceiling

Also, I'm not sure on your rig, but the upper in mine is way bigger than queen size..it's bigger than a king actually

I was going to toss the factory king matters up there after we install the replacement...

Mine is wrapped in plastic in my storage shed....although I'm now curious as to the exact size...I'll have to measure tomorrow...I use mine as storage...I've only had one person sleep on it one night.....actually it was half a night because they got cold Inn the garage and moved to couch!! Lol

I will try to snap a couple of photos, but I removed the 2 couches. I ran 2 C channel bars across the garage and bolted them to where the couches mounted. I strap my Kayaks to them. This gets them up and out of the way for day to day stuff and easy to lower them down and use them then needed. The next step in this mod is to mount plywood across the unused space next to the kayaks for additional storage. I can easily remove the C channel and bolt the couches back into place if I anticipate the need for them.
