We have made reservations for the Turning Stone Rally but don't know our site number probably till we get there. We are new members and joined in early may and made our reservations after deadline and got the last site available. Have called campground and like everyone else get the same recording is there a way to find out our site number? If not no problem we will look forward to seeing you all at the rally in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Did you make the rez online or speak w/ a rep? Either way, call back until you get a live person or leave a message asking them to call you back. Office is staffed from 9am to I think now 8-9pm.

Welcome!!! You wrote that you were not quite w/ the group. Give TS another shout and ask to see if there is any way possible that they can put you in w/ the rest of us. If not, shouldn't be a problem finding us as the 400 section is the largest section and look for the other "Elkridge"....sorry Sir Jamie couldn't resist. Lots of good folks, knowledge and good 'ol bantering. Also, if not w/ rest of group, may want to bring a shovel just in case you are near the water to remove the goose poop from your site. Don't ask how I know.

Upon edit, I didn't see where TS assigned you. Again, call TS and see if they can put you in w/ rest of group and if not, you will NOT need a shovel where you're currently at and you are just across the street from the HL gang.

I’m really surprised how difficult it is to get a hold of anyone at Turning Stone. It generally takes 5-6 phone calls and 2-3 messages to get any response. I had to change our reservations last week and I left a message twice and finally got a phone call back to speak to a live person. Keep trying, and leave messages requesting your site number.

Glad you can join us. You will find that there are some great people in this group.

See you soon! Safe travels!

Sorry to hear everyone having issues. I've called them a few times last week and got right through. I know they are a very popular campground and phones are ringing all the time not sure if they are full staff for summer yet as it officially doesn't start until after our rally. If anyone is still having issues please let me know. Jamie when you can let me know what change you made to your reservations so I can adjust my paperwork to reflect it. Thanks Colleen

The sites we had reserved that were left over were turned back to the campground on 5/18/18 so chances are they have been booked by the campground and we cannot ask them to move anyone off them once they are returned. I know they will do their best to get people calling in now in an area close to us. Don't worry about your site number I will find out when I receive an updated list from them however just make sure you did receive the HOC Discount price of $51.77 for the weekend if not than call them back to have them adjust your reservations. If you have any issues please PM me and we'll see what we can work out. Thanks, Colleen

Glad to see you are in. Don't worry about your site number I will find that out when I receive a final update from them hopefully tomorrow. The important thing is they did give you the HOC discount $51.77 for the weekend if they did not than you need to call them back and have them adjust your reservation other than that you are good to go. We look forward to meeting you guys in a few weeks.

It appears that all 30 sites have been reserved for our rally which is very exciting! As of this point the reservation for the rally has closed and final preparations for meals and events are being worked on over the next several weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone and hope we have nice warm, dry weather.

From a CNYer........ HOWDY HOWDY to all that are coming. See ya all on the 22nd. ;););)

One bit of info for those arriving on the 22nd. Mgmt won't allow you to check in until 1pm (maybe 12 if site is open) even tho the sites have been reserved for the rally. Reason I know is that I thought we could arrive something like 1st thing in the AM (10sh), but not to be.

Wow hard to believe it's Rally time!! According to local weather folks, it looks good Wed-Fri and iffy for the weekend. Couple questions. 1. Is there a designated site we are meeting up at all the time or just at the "teepe" where there is the center fire pit? 2. Any update for Sat dinner? DW was asking so if need to bring something it can be done up ahead of time. 3. Are folks pretty much on their own for dinner Fri or all meeting up at "X" location? 4. Planned events/outings on Sat?

BTW, if anyone has any last minute questions about the area or help, drop a note. We are about 40 minutes from TS, 13 minutes from Syracuse.

Greetings to one and all,

Mary and I are first timers for the upcoming Rally. Is someone going to post an events schedule? For those of us first timers, it would be great if one or more of you Veteran Rally goers could post something about how the upcoming Rally is going to play out.

Many Thanks, and looking forward to meeting everyone,

Don

Hi Don - congrats on this being your guy's first rally! Say, Colleen has an agenda posted as an attachment to post # 1 of this rally thread. Go ahead and hover over the attachments and click on the one that says Agenda. It will download as a PDF. They will likely also have a final agenda in your rally packet/bag.

Have a great time!

Don & Mary,
Please stop by our site(we will try to do the same) and introduce yourself. It is a great group of people and quite a fun, relaxing time.

Don and Mary, welcome to the Heartland Owners Club. As you will learn quickly, and if your schedule ever permits for rallies, even though the rally is technically June 22-24 you will find most, but never all, will arrive prior to the rally day and stay 1 or 2 days past the end date. It tends to give you more time to check out the area if you desire and to be able to chill out a little with a smaller group. During the rally you will find that you will never go hungry. Even though Friday's agenda shows finger foods, chances are you will not need to plan anything else for dinner, I'm not making any promises but from past experiences you will find this is plenty. You will find if you ever arrive early for a rally, the group usually does something together whether it is to go out to a local restaurant or to do a cookout together. That being said for before, if you stay after there is usually a post rally get together where there is usually plenty of leftovers to be had by all who stay. There is never any pressure to something you do not want to do, just an emphasis to enjoy and make new friends.

As NYSUpstater has said, we live close by and frequent the area as our son lives out there, we know a bit about the area and can point you to many area attractions outside of the casino. That being said, the casino offers a variety of eateries and other fun activities on the weekend, outside of gambling, that you may like. I will have a list of places with addresses and distances if you would like to have a copy so that you may check out the area. There are some nice State Parks sites close by one of which with a nice set of falls.

I see you are on site #418 which is right across from the Chapter leaders site so you will be close to the center of activity as a lot of events at at their site. My wife and I look forward to introducing ourselves to you and plan for a fun filled weekend.

Thank you Bob Dufek, Jim Beletti and Jamie Walker for your responses we have been out of the country up at the Canada Rally since last week with no internet and very limited cell service only for emergencies. Welcome all new members we look forward to meeting with you. As posted last week was the Agenda for the rally on the first page along with other information as to places of interest in the area, our give back program (we will be explaining at the Friday evening get together) and they will also be included in your rally packet. As mentioned usually plans for pre-rally are as they go. I thought of over the weekend for Thursday evening seeing how many people would want to attend the buffet restaurant at the casino as a group it is around $23.95 a person with the casino card and $25.95 without the card per person. I plan on checking with everyone who will be there on Thursday of their interest otherwise, if this is not an option for you there are other restaurants in the area that are close to the campground and at the casino that are mentioned on the first page of this thread on the place of interest sheet and meet up at our site after dinner for a fire (weather permitted). As for the meet and greet on Friday for those who have never attended one we are asking everyone to either bring a favorite appetizer or a dessert to share with their fellow HOC members to go over the agenda and that will be happening at our site 419. As for where the location of the events they are also listed on the Agenda for dinner on Saturday evening Wilkins RV is sponsoring the meal as stated 2 weeks ago of pull pork, pull chicken with sides dishes and will be delivered to us to enjoy by 6:00pm at the pavilion however prior to dinner at 5:00 pm also at the pavilion, we will be having a representative from the National Canine Cancer Foundation, our give back program, give a small presentation about their organization and what they do to try and stamp out cancer in animals. After dinner we will be hosting a fire at the pavilion along with door prizes given out. As for Breakfast meals for Saturday and Sunday mornings they will be held at our site 419 as we have done in the past and menu is on the agenda. We will be putting up a pop up as well and will be looking for some volunteers who might have one to borrow would be most appreciated. If anyone has any questions please PM and I will try and answer asap now that we are back in the states. We look forward to seeing everyone and hope the rain gods can keep the rain away. Safe travels everyone see you soon.

Jim is planning to go to Oneida Community Golf Course on Friday. $25.00 a person for 18 holes including cost of a cart. It is about 20 minutes from the campground. Please let me know asap who will be interested so I can make Tee Time reservations.
