2021 Landmark Newport

Well, last year I posted that my wife and I were looking at the 2020 Newport due to the 2 tone colors, bath and half, oven in the wall vs. under the stove and it being electric. Well, the 2021 are now hitting the market and Heartland followed suit of copying one of their other models by having 2 ovens in the wall. I don't want 2 ovens, I want the storage under the single oven.
Is there really a market for 2 ovens these days?

I’m going to guess in that the Landmark line is slanted more to the “full timer” market there are those that want dual ovens. My wife stated early on that she wasn’t cooking that much anymore as we started our full time life. However, now into our 3rd year, she has slowly moved back into fixing dinners and some baking. The only reason she doesn’t do more baking is that the Furrion oven is less then acceptable to her. The temperatures are erratic at best but if the new electric ovens were more consistent she would probably ramp up her baking.

All that being said I see some models offering that option, but not the entire line of Landmarks.

I love the fact that the oven is now higher mounted in the wall. I would not be interested in 2 of the same ovens in the wall plus a microwave or convection microwave (essentially 3 ovens).

What I think would be ideal (for me at least) - wall mounted electric oven and a convection/microwave oven stacked above it. Then, above the cooktop, a nice vent hood with fan and light and above that, a tall cabinet with double doors and an adjustable shelf.

Don't want 2 ovens? if that is the only "deal breaker," simply remove one, keep as a spare, and use space for extra storage or place for some other appliance. I think that would be an easy remodel

Wow - never thought of that. That should be an easy modification since it is electric so a simple unplug from inside the cavity. I am sure there is only certain brackets in there holding it in. Thanks for the insight.

Hey Jim,

Wonder if we could influence Heartland to leave the bottom oven where it is and put in that convection/microwave on top of it. The oven would still be up off the floor - thanks for your insight.

It would be best for you to call Heartland and leave a message for Andy Wesdorp or email him at andy.wesdorp@heartlandrvs.com.

I have not seen the double oven Landmark in person. If they vent these outside, you could be in good shape to do your own retrofit.

If they vent the double ovens to the interior, then you'd need to turn the fan around on the microwave to blow it forward and then provide a metal vent above the unit.

Jim,

Thanks for the information. Based on photos that are out there I have not seen any venting from the ovens on the outside. I wonder if there is any venting onto the roof. I can only image how hot this camper would get if both ovens were on at the same time (400 degrees) with no venting of some type. I sent an email to Andy this morning so I shall see what his thoughts are and will share with everyone.

We have been looking at the Landmarks and see that they have dropped the disk brake option for some reason too. Hopefully the 2nd oven is an option because I agree it takes up storage. We were actually wanting to delete the single oven as we only use the convection anyway.

I actually ran across in RV Trader a Newport that had been ordered only with the upper oven and the bottom oven with another matching cabinet. Makes more sense to us for our needs.
