How to Add or Change your Forum Signature Image

Note that at this time (4-June-2021), this forum does not natively allow signature image hosting. This is something we are working on and hope to soon offer.

Until then, if you have an image hosted online, you can use that. You'll need to copy the URL for that image, then follow the steps below.

Once we have added forum signature image hosting to this forum, we will write a help document on that and replace this post with it.

  1. Click on your username at the top-right of any forum page
  2. Click Signature
  3. Your current signature will show in a box, click where you want to add your signature image
  4. Click the Insert Image icon
  5. Paste in the URL of your image *

Jim,

When I follow these instructions using the URL to Google Drive, I get the following error popup.

Dan....try this, it worked for me. Reply to this post (just reply, not "quote" and one of the options during reply is to "Attach files" I attached my "Oregon_Camper" file, then copied that URL into my signature...and it worked. :)

Jim T,

Thanks for the workaround. I was wondering how you got yours to post.

So Jim B., the workaround would be to

create a post
use Attach Files to upload your sig file from the computer to the post.
Post it
then right click on the image and select Copy Link Address.
Then open the edit signature screen
use the copied link (to the heartlandowners.org attachment) as the image file.

Have we lost access to the images we had in our "gallery" from last version?
Jim,

Not sure what you mean by your gallery. The super old Gallery 2 feature where users could create galleries and upload to them had been inop for many years as that product went dark.

If you mean images you attached to forum posts, those should still be attached.

What we do not have is a rich image attachment feature where you can see some of the images you've recently attached. I've purchased the add-on for that and we hope to have it installed soon.

Cool - thanks Jim and Dan. I'll hold off on writing up a help doc on the work around in the hopes that we can get the richer attachment feature add-on, added soon.
