Putting grease on torsion / sway bars

I am pulling a 30 Ft. Travel Trailer and I use the Center Line hitch. I love the hitch it works great but it is very noisy when turning. So I was wondering if anyone has ever put grease on the Sway bars cradles? I know that doing this will take away some of the friction witch is what makes this system work properly. I am just wondering if a little grease would hurt the performance.

I had a similar hitch when we had our travel trailer. Nothing like announcing to the entire campground that you have arrived as you turn a corner! Unless the manual says otherwise, I wouldn’t grease anything as you would greatly reduce the anti sway functionality of the hitch. It relies on the friction from the contact points and the grease would then remove that friction. I believe there are other hitches out there that give you sway control without the noise.

Unless you’re arriving at zero-dark thirty, I would not be concerned with the creaking of your sway bars. Even then…
