Hook up TV with IRV36 on M210RB rv

Just purchased the M210rb and it came with the model IRv36 for the radio / sound system. It did not come with a TV so I have purchased one and now would like to get the TV to play through the speakers in the camper. But I cannot figure out how to hook the TV up to the audio system. I have tired the HDMI and looked at the manual from IRV on their unit. I would think that I should be able to usew the aux part of the IRV36 but so far nothing is working with it. It does work with the radio and the bluetooth.
Anyone that has a M210rb help , would love to have better sound system. BTW so far love this camper for just my wife and I.

Hi BTcamp56,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

Audio output from TVs to sound systems can be complicated. The first step is to find a compatible output from the TV to an input on the sound system. Then, the menu on the TV and on the sound system may required settings to be changed.

Take a look at our RV Audio Connections Illustrated guide for help with the connections types and converters.

I've seen some TVs where you can output sound through either the TV speakers or an audio output, but not both. Also, PCM settings are not universal. And if both devices support Audio Return Channel (ARC), it's possible the HDMI cable that lets you play videos on your TV might also allow TV audio to play through the sound system. But not all devices support ARC.

If you can advise as to the make/model of your TV, someone might have more specific advice.

Digital audio (coax) output from the TV, connecting to analog aux audio input on the sound system will require a converter like this one along with appropriate cables to span the distance between devices.

Digital audio connectors and cables come in 2 flavors: Coaxial Digital Audio (which your TV apparently has) and TOS Link Optical Digital Audio (which you apparently do not have). The linked device handles either.

Just purchased an Open Road 20FBS with an IRv 36 Radio. I assume that your radio works correctly. Mine was working at the dealers, but at home I can only get static on 1 FM channel, and it will not play my songs from a USB thumb drive. I have a Wienguard Air 360 antenna. Am I missing something obvious? Any help you can offer will help.

I know that this is a question and not an answer to yours. I did this because I am a new member and the site will not let me post because I am new and not used the site enough.

Thanks, 2NATIME

Be sure you antenna booster is turned on. There should be a small red or green light on when energized. Like the TV, it makes a huge difference in the radio reception on my unit as well.
