Hopefully it has not got worse. We had ours checked out by very reputable independent repair company. Said it’s not from broken welds. So far it has not got worse or leaked; we sealed it.
Heartland removed the sidewalls in 2012 at their factory & fixed the welds that failed on aluminum studs. They reported also adding additional bracing. I’ll get the rig professionally evaluated. Sounds like 8 years later I’m having same issue. Geez why don’t these rigs hold up anymore...
Hey Heartlands Owners
Does anyone have any advice for dealing w a crack in fiberglass around the slideout? My initial quick fix was putting sealant on the crack. Our rig is a 2012 Sundance 3200 re. I read RV covers may do more harm by increasing moisture. If anyone has experienced this any...
Hey there
We had a RV repair shop replace the back wall of our 2012 heartland 5th wheel. When our unit was 1 year old heartland did remove both side walls & add additional supports in 2013. They also rebuilt a large section of floor that rotted due to no seal from factory. I am not sure...
Had a blow out going to OBX yesterday, does anyone know what the repair for the attached frame support includes? Going spray good stuff & paint to reseal, but this picture looks like the support will need to be cut off & welded back on. Also I have a trip planned this weekend; is this damage...
Before i noticed the bubbles I re-caulked the top and sides of all the windows and around the lights to be safe. I should invest in the caulking given the tubes i have gone through for "preventative measures" I am wondering if the glue they used on this model has problems given the many...
Hello Sundance community,
We bought a new 3200 re in 2012. Had most of the floor replaced because the vapor barrier did not cover the flooring. Heartland stepped up & covered the repair plus broken supports near the front cap. Fast forward 3 years later & i noticed the rear off door side of...
Thanks again, I checked the seal around Windows & all the seams on the body 2 months ago. I applied sealant several places. Yes the weep holes are not blocked. I don't know why I did not check the roof, duh!! Keep thinking the water was coming in through exterior walls. I will need to start...
Thanks Gus! I looked again & found quarter size slits in the caulk. I check the roof annually, but somehow missed these spots. 3 tubes of caulk later & I think it's ok. No RV is without repairs, but we have experienced more the the average bear. Thank goodness Heartland usually backs their...
I bought a new 3200 sundance re in 2012. Since that time the rig has gone back to Elkhart, IN 2 times for frame issues & a large section of the floor by the door slide was rotten w/in 1.5 years of ownership. We use the rig a few times a year & I check the seals every 6 months. Last year the...
Dave , I appreciate your response! Caulking was checked first, then worked from there. Unfortunately is does not take much water to start a problem & a long drive on a rainy day will cause havoc to unprotected composite material.
Easy, water was transferred up there from the wheels as the spot started directly above the rear wheels. Normally there is a plastic coating over the wood so when water is thrown from the wheel the floor is protected. Apparently the factory did not cover this section as all other flooring is...
I have an 18 month old 3200 re, removed covering for under belly & discovered part of the floor by door side rears was not covered in plastic like the remainder of the floor. I will now have to replace a good amount of the floor for a quality assurance failure of the factory! Contacted...
