Has anybody replaced the single lever kitchen faucet with pull out sprayer unit with what they consider a real upgrade? I see several for sale like the old original. Mine has the single hole for the plumbing and the 8" wide screw pattern.
I got up on the roof and started washing it and there were a lot of yellow jackets came out of the roof air conditioner cover. I killed about two dozen of them and washed the front half of the roof. I need to remove the cover and get rid of the wasp nest tomorrow and finish washing the roof...
Can the black tank water back up through the hose? I thought that an overfill would go up through the toilet? I have used the same regulator and a splitter for years and I just wondered.
Just use a piece of tough wood between the top of the jack and the spring shackle. You jack one side of one axle at a time and make sure you have the trailer or fifth wheel hooked up to the truck so that nothing tries to roll on you. I have used the bottle jack from my truck and it works just...
On the Bighorn there is a switch for winterizing the system if it is set to the winter position the pump will run. I think it is for sucking antifreeze through the system but I think the pump runs as long as the switch is in the winter position. Just something to check.
We installed the 7000# brake assemblies from Etrailer this morning. They are heavier duty than the originals. The drums are made in America but the ones from Etrailer have 1/2" lug studs and normal 1/2" lug nuts that don't fit the wheel. We went to auto parts and bought fat boy lug nuts and got...
The expert at Etrailer says that it is best to stay with the brake rating that came with the trailer because of the stronger magnet in the heavier rated brakes. He says that the stronger magnet can cause the trailer to drag too much on the truck when the brakes are applied.
Thanks Keith! I will probably go with the 7000# manual brakes and that will be an upgrade. Good idea to have new drums checked for trueness. A good machine shop could make a skim cut or check for round with an indicator. I had to adjust the controller up before we came down lookout mountain on...
Thanks! I am considering going with the 7000# self adjusting brakes to give them a little more stopping power. Another good reason to go with new drums too.
I haven't done a bearing repack in a couple of years and I have never done anything to the brakes except inspect and adjust them. I want to install all new brakes this year along with my bearing repacking. I see that I can get the Nev-R-Adjust brakes now. I was wondering if these are the way to...
Re: HELP - Broke down on road - need part numbers
I keep a set of bearings all packed and ready in a plastic bag and the seals and tools in a box in my compartment. I have never needed the spare on the road but I did find one damaged when I inspected it at repacking time. I have the numbers for...
A few years ago I found the spring clamps loose on ours when I inspected. The spring clamps are the bands that go around the leaves and help keep them from splaying. I bought new spring clamps and added them to the springs. The old ones were loose and and sliding down to where they were useless...
I think that they threw in the new Interstate battery when we bought the Bighorn in July 09. This is the only battery that we have needed and it is still going strong today. Ours had an extra battery box in the front compartment that I removed for storage space.
I posted a warning on here a couple of years ago about reading the ingredients on the bottle. Some antifreeze that claims to be for RVs is poison and some is not. It pays to read the bottle.
You can hardly walk into a gun shop around here where they don't try to sell you a 9mm or bigger. I bought a pocket gun anyway- .380 auto. I'll have mine in my pocket where ever possible. Some guy said that the big gun guys act like they all shot it out at the OK corral. I wouldn't want to be on...
