Landmark furnace question

We have a 2016 Landmark and my question is about for instance, what happens when the furnace runs low or depletes propane supply? Will it just shut down completely or will the furnace try to re-ignite, or can it automatically switch the thermostat to heat pump mode? The latter would be a great idea but I doubt it will occur on it's own.

If propane runs out, the furnace will shut down. As the thermostat calls for it to restart, after 3 failed ignition attempts, it will lock out and the thermostat will need to be cycled off and back to heat to try another 3 times.

If you have a heat pump on the same thermostat as the one that controls the furnace, I think it may start automatically. But only that one heat pump would start. And the Dometic heat pumps don't operate in heat mode below around 40 (F).

If your other A/C units are heat pumps, and outside temps don't go below about 40 (F), you could set them to heat to keep the coach warm even if the furnace runs out of propane.

We have a 2016 Bighorn with two heat pumps. I often set the heat pumps in the living area to 63° when we go to bed. This heat pump thermostat also controls the furnace. When outside temp get to around 32° the heat pump will start going into defrost mode. But it never switches to furnace mode. I thought it was suppose to switch automatically. Maybe some setting is wrong or it just doesn’t work.
