Albuquerque to Gouldings at Monument Valley

My trip from Albuquerque to Goulding's went like this. I had no problems. First off I will try to stay off of interstates as much as I can. I am in no hurry. I have found that many if not most highways other than Interstates are easier to travel, smoother, have less traffic. I have not had a...

    water pressure regulator ?

I use the Watts N55BG Regulator from RV Water Filter Store. I also use a Surge Protector. ALWAYS. If you're worried about the cost of buying either one you're missing the reason for using them. The cost of repair out weights the cost of prevention. If you have a water leak in your trailer...

    Medical Needs On The Road

I have been full timing since 2007. I have a physical every November & December. I get my meds filled at that time through CVS Caremark mail order. When I need to refill my meds I go on line and have it sent to my Escapees mail address. When I get to a place I like I will say a week and have the...

    BLOWMAX grrrrrr

On my 2008 Bighorn 3400RE I changed to 17.5 rims. Expensive? Depends how you look at it. The tires and rims (I got all 5 rims the same) cost $3,350. If you purchase a cheaper tire or a tire that will not handle the weight or speed rating. Say $200 per tire time 5 is $1,000. Repair damage to the...

Hanging out at Spring Hill RV Park Cochrane AB Canada

I made it here yesterday. Going to make a run this week to Banff and Lake Louise. I was looking around at the HOP and there are a number of HOC members in the area. Thought I would say Hidy Do. If you get a chance drop me a line. Maybe we can join in lunch or something. BC

    Need Help With Directions

My Streets and trips says your route is the shortest route, 300.7mi. There is another route if you go south back to hwy 2 this route is 313.9 miles. Your route has good highway as I can find once you get on 93 north. I found a motorcycle page that tells about the route from Yaak to 93. Guide...

    Was that really you?

I am staying in Bend Oregon with my cousin. Today as we were going to pickup a lawn tractor we spotted a Heartland Bighorn going north on Hwy 97 about 10 am and going through La Pine Oregon. The Bighorn had a HOC plaque on the back and I believe the number was 1241. I looked up 1241 and that was...

You can't get the h*ll out of Texas

Jim B.. I was also thinking about a dash cam of some sorts. There is a Go Pro but I don't know how long they will record without stopping. I have had many pull in front of me the slow way down and/or Exit freeway. Do you know of a cam that will record say an hour or two loop when I am on a 6hr...

What hitch is best with TrailAir pin box

I have a B&W Turnover Ball with a 5th Wheel Companion. A new Ford has the prep for that hitch and you can buy it from the dealer. They have different brand of 5th wheel hitches I just like the B&W. I have never had any problems towing with the hitch. BC

What is being done about Towmax Tires

I have changed the rims and tires out on my 2008 Bighorn to the 17.5 GY114. So far no trouble and I am quite happy. I changed to these tires on 11/14/2012. I originally changed the Mission and Free Star out the day I bought my 5er to Michelin XPS Ribs which served me very well. However they...

Getting first 5 th wheel this week

I also strongly suggest you check the caulking, but look for movement in the front of the trailer. Along the edges the frames have had a problem with movement. When Heartland made their first trailers the frame that connected to the pin box was not welded (Lippert mfgr) good enough and caused...

    Using Rest Stops

I have been traveling fulltime since 2007 and have never stayed at a rest stop, Wal-Mart, Cracker Barrel or such. I normally leave by 9:30 or 10:30 and travel around 250 miles or less. This puts me into a place that I can stay overnight by 4pm. I have only driven into dark one time to a...

Hay Guys, thanks for the info. I will go through them and the suggestions. If you get down south here some day and need a suggestion of some of the places I have stayed at let me know. Anode Pic After 5.5 Months Full Timing

If you would use filters on your fresh water you wouldn't have one get eat up as bad. I have gone a year before I changed mine out. This happens if you stay where they use hard water or/and are on well water. BC
