If you have a smart phone download Allstays Camp & RV. It shows a number of places to stay Canyonlands seems to have a good review from RV Park Reviews. Ford F-350 6.7 Diesel Failure

I have a question. When they towed your rig did they tow the truck and trailer separate or did they raise your truck still connected to the trailer and tow it to your campground? I have had my truck towed once on a flat bed but never the truck and trailer separate or together. While we are...

I do this every so often. I like to remind the old timers and let the newbies know that if you're interested in seeing others you might check out the HOP. which TOW vehicle gets best fuel mileage towing and empty?

Do you have a short bed or long bed. Do a search for one of the threads about aux tanks. You might contact Classy Chassis. They install one from American Tank that automatically controls the fuel between tanks. FWIW BC

    Tail gate on or off

In some states if you do not have a tailgate you can't carry anything in the truck bed. I think this is true in Texas. If you have a net or such then there is no problem. FWIW BC

Newbie Planning 1st Out of State Trip

All the information is very good. Although I fulltime I limit my travel to 250miles, drive about 63mph but average 45mph. I stop often but always stay in an RV Park. It is safer for your family. I strongly agree with TravelTiger. Never pull into an unfamiliar RV Park at night. I have seen many...

which TOW vehicle gets best fuel mileage towing and empty?

Miltp920 - Actually gas mileage is not important whether your driving a gas or diesel vehicle. What is important is do you have enough fuel. You should get better mileage with diesel pulling a heavy load. Most diesel engines will get similar mileage when empty or pulling a load. There are so...

    Pex question

majestic.. I think you confused the types. He stated the compression. I have the compression which works quite well on all my work. It is more expensive than the crimp type. The crimp type is less expensive and so are the clamps. In my opinion they both are capable of doing the job needed. I...

    Prices On New Trucks

When I was discharged from the Navy in July of 1966 I went to Denver CO and bought a 1966 Ford 3/4 ton camper special for my Dad. Drove it out of the dealership to home near Casper Wy. Sold it when I went fulltime in 2007. The truck cost $3,000 cash. 4 speed granny, 352cu engine. No...

    Suspension upgrade

I had the Mor/Ryde system in June 2009. One thing I learned the hard way is to grease the suspension every 6,000 miles. I found out that the bushings are a fiber bushing and needs to be greased quite often. The bushings had wore out in one year.. I now use the following recommended grease...

Some Direct TV issues I have found plus a question or two.

Normall you can't get local channels when you are abt 150 miles from your home. This has been the case for a long time. It has to do with stations and local advertising. Dish got into serious trouble for switching areas when we travel outside the channel beam.

    Confused on WHICH GPS

    Mod for Honda Generators

I built something similar to that sometime ago. I bought two new Honda caps from a Honda repair shop. Drilled out the center of the caps. Made the Move: Diesel Pusher to LM Savannah

Just a thought. While you are waiting check out a company "Classy Chassis" for a tow vehicle. They can get you a good used one or even a new one set up to tow your new 5er. Many here on the forum have purchased from them. I will check with them if I need to replace my TV. BC

    Campground in Colorado Springs?

What do you consider a high price for a site.

Thanks for the responses.. Nice to see I'm not the only tightwad. I think if we all stay in campgrounds that have reasonable prices maybe many of the pricy campgrounds will reduce their price. I have thought about campgrounds like TT but I don't want to put out a yearly fee when I'm not in the...

Question about hauling extra diesel fuel

I carried 3 cans. Really never used them. When I got back home I went to empty them into my OEM tank, I needed a long funnel to pour the diesel into the tank. I saved up my pennies and installed an aux tank. So the point is be sure you can use the cans before you leave. BC
