this has propbly been discussed before but, I am ready to change tires on my tow truck. I have a 2018 RAM 3500 Dually. I am currently running Firestone Transforce HT 235-70R-17 tires and not real happy with wear. The only other 2 I would consider would be Good Year, Michilen, or stay with...
Re: Broken Main Slide-Update-sold the RV
We finally did get our slide repaired after 4 months. Very tough time to have a failure right in the middle of a Pandemic and you can't get parts but, for the biggest item was getting the failure resolved. The Service Tech explained to me at my repair...
I am booking W Glacier today for our dates. I don't think you can book Bow River Edge more than 365 days in advance according to their website but, I will give them a phone call to confirm.
I can't believe camping has gotten so poplular and you have to book campsites so far in advance - crazy...
Fantastic reply! You have answered most all of my questions. We are planning on going in 2022 and surly the border will be open by then. I was already looking at Bow River Campground, we have another couple traveling with us with their 5th wheel so I think we'll go ahead and book our sights. We...
OK like lots of stuck at home folks we have just finished the Heartland series on Netflix and are anxious to go to the Calgary Stampede. We have never seen a real Rodeo.
We are looking to book the 2022 show.
Has anyone been? Can you advise on full hook up campgrounds?
How do you do the...
We are selling our wonderful Heartland Big Horn 3875FB - It can be seen in full at RV Trader: https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2016-Heartland-BIGHORN-3875FB-5015716901
Feel free to e-mail me for any questions or photos
This was a factory order from McGeorge's Rolling Hills RV in Ashland, VA...
I have a 2016 Big Horn 3875FB with a powered power reel. I broke the plastic hinge for the cover door and it looks pretty universal but, I have not been able to find a replacement.
Has anyone ever seen these? I am sure I will have to buy the door and frame but, that's OK
I was doing some reading about slides and I ran across a statement in the owners manual that the slides should be in for extended storage. I had never noticed this because when we are off the road my are extended, with jacks down of course, and on full power for heat or cool.
What is everyone's...
Re: Broken Main Slide - Update
We had our slide failure back in October 2020 and has been at Apalachee RV Repair since November 3rd. Apprantly this was a catastrophic failure and we still don't know when we will get it back - soon I hope! There has been delays in getting parts and arguments...
As always many thanks for a complete description - I do have a washer and dryer and I was concerned about it. I also found a couple You Tube videos that helped.
See ya somewhere!
Hey Dan-
I have never had to winterize my Big Horn but, it has been in the shop for an extended period of time - I hope to get it out soon but, I need advice on "De-winterizing" is there a manual for that procedure - did not see one
Fantastic job! Looks great and functional. Here is what we did removing our little "dine in" table. We eat most of our meals with them in our lap watching TV or outside at the picnic table. I needed a more functional work space.
Already planning and booking 2021 - you better.
Can anyone recomend any good campgrounds in the Poconos area. We have a 41' Big Horn FB3875 and like full hook ups. Looking to stay at least a week and explore the area. Don't need all the kiddie stuff just good, safe, and easy campground.
Thanks
Dave-
I bow down to you and your work on your slide repair - great job! I am afraid that is a little over my technical ability but, I learned a lot reading about your repair.

We have a 2016 Big Horn 3875FB which has been trouble free from day one other than several little things.
On a camping trip last week Sharon was letting the slides out and there was a very loud metalic bang and the main slide kind of cocked sideways top to bottom at about 3 feet out. I crawled...
Thanks Edie-
I found a really good video on YouTube put out by Blackstone and it really helped - pretty close to what you were talking about - these Blackstones are awesome.
Take care
I have just purchased my third Blackstone Griddle (tail gater) and am falling in love with it.
I have a 36” unit that has been sitting idle for about a year so I figured I needed to “re-season” it.
The first thing I did was scrub it with a scrubber and water to clean it and wiped it down...
While searching You-Tube on this subject I found a guy that had trouble with the 4-way valve cartridge which I was familiar with and I have replaced twice. He mentioned a link to ABCO which is the Anderson distributor as a parts source. I went to the website and discovered the KANTLEAK unit had...
Well we are getting things ready for a trip and I decided to replace all of my Home Depot cheap quick disconnects with heavy duty brass ones.
When I tried to remove the fitting on the fresh water line it was seized tight. I tried penetrating oil and a host of channel locks and vice grips and...
I am wanting to do a good job of cleaning my roof and taking care of it. As I was researching cleaning products several mentioned you need to know what your roof is made of. I have looked everywhere but, have not been able to find the actual term.
I have a 2016 3875FB Big Horn - I know the roof...
I wanted to share my $200. lesson with everyone! I was finally stumped so I called out a local Mobile RV guy and to my surprise he came right away working me between calls. Of course I had told him I had checked fuses and removed the up top cowl and could not find anything. He went through the...
After another trip up the ladder I did find the phone connectors and they both look solid - I think it's time for a repairman as bad as I hate it.
Thanks again!
We have had our rig a few years and my wife has detected some cobwebs inside the fireplace behind the glass. I got the owners manual out and it says how to remove the unit from the wall but, nothing about taking off the glass.
The wonderful thing about the Heartland Owners Group is this has...
OK - I ordered a new thermostat and it came in this morning. I went and plugged it in and nothing - so that rules out the thermostat and I can send it back. I then got my back pack full of tools and went up top and checked everything out. I think I took apart everything on the unit where there...
Alright - I checked out the fuse on the A/C and it is fine, after thinking the other A/C is running and they are both on the same fuse.
Based on another suggestion I am going to replace the thermostat and see if that is it.
Many thanks - I forgot about those - I will check.
We are in the middle of a "remodel" repainting the inside of our RV and changing up light fixtures and plumbing fixtures so thankfully we are not having to stay in it overnight without A/C
Hey Dan-
Yes the Thermostat panel is dark like no power.
Thanks for the quick reply as I mentioned I did go to the breaker panel and nothing was tripped - my question is there a different panel for the A/C units if not what is the next step?
Today out of the clear blue my bedroom A/C went off and the panel is dark. I looked at the breaker panel and nothing has flipped. Are the A/C units breakers somewhere else?
I have a Big Horn 3875FB with twin Dometics and both have been replaced since new in 2016 (under warranty) - have been...
Hey Folks-
I am sure I am not the first person this has happened to but, just wanted to give you a "Heads Up".
While we were away one day our Mini Schnauizer missed us so bad she chewed on one of our MCD shades.
I contacted MCD for a replacement and Lori Wright quoted me a full replcaement...
Re: Ho to Remove Valances
OK - I like the "swearing" part. There should be a page of useful swear words in the owners manual because I have a collection after many years with an RV.
Based on all comments "there ain't no easy way".
We have a 2016 3875FB. We would like to remove the window valances but, before I tear something up does anyone know how to remove these?
Do you remove the shades first? How do you do that?
I know window treatments in all units are not the same but here is one of mine.
Thanks
