Sounds like a plan Clarice! Check out this forum. The main issue with the MPG's were a bad batch of axles. The axle company, Lippert, has replaced most of them, but if you buy a used one, look for wear on the inside edge of the tires. That's an indication that the axle has to be replaced...

Thanks everyone. Turned out to be an easy repair. Needed a $10 part, the toilet water valve. Replaced and reinstalled the toilet in 10 minutes.

If you were running on propane there is probably air in the line. Usually after 3 attempts to start it will shut itself off. There is a mode mentioned in the manual for starting it when there is air in the line. Do you have the manual? If not I'll find mine and write back with details.

There's a way of starting up the fridge that clears air from the line. It's mentioned in the manual but I can't remember it off hand. It worked for me when I changed tanks and air got in the line.

Sorry to hear. Don't know about the door frame, but for the remote you can probably pick up a universal remote from any radio shack that should work.

This is the 'in use' setting. The upper and lower valves are on and the center bypass is off. In bypass mode the positions are reversed. The upper and lower are closed while the center valve is on.

I'm not sure what the axle warranty is, but take a picture of the serial number plate on the rear of the axle and of the wear on the tire and email Lippert. They were much more responsive to me than Heartland.

What are you towing with? We spent last summer in NM, CO and WY with our 181 (towed by a Jeep Liberty diesel). Had no problems on the passes, though did have to downshift to 2nd every now and then.

Sway control helps, but I'm not sure if weight distribution does because I find I needed more tongue weight on my 181. The weight distribution lessens tongue weight by spreading the weight around. I added a 2nd marine battery up front and that helped a lot. I have a sway bar too. It's...
