Didn't see that, as I've been in my ceiling lately adding insulation and correcting factory mistakes. The A/C system has 2" tall rectangular ducting that looks like its made out of rigid reflectix, looks the same as the material that was in the fifth wheel I salvage this A/C unit from, had the...
Hey all, I have a question for ya. I have a 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, which has a really nice insualted rectangular duct system used for its A/C, I'm looking for hopefully the manufacturer and hopefully a source online to purchase some from?
My fifth's fine, but I liked the ducting system used in...
The RV Park I live at is out in the center of the Columbia River, bottom end is made up of the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. It's definitely not the fanciest park out there, but it's not bad. Been here for almost five years now, only had the Bighorn for the last year.
You'd have to pick up the range, and come stay at Island Cove RV Park, but it wouldn't be the first time I've done RV Work. I have a 40 year old KIT Kamper I'm getting ready to do some tear down and remodel work on.
We just did a full stress use of the range last night, baking cookies in the oven at the same time as cooking dinner on the stove top, we were very impressed with the results.
Our ovens normally get used quite a bit, cooking roasts, meat loaf, turkeys (smaller), baking cakes, pies, cookies, crumbles, crisps, etc..... Our Bighorn is our residence, and I love to cook, and have been missing the use of an oven.
As long as the cut out space has room for roughly 20 1/2" inches in width, it should fit. The cabinet opening on ours was a good 21" wide, and the counter was just a hair wider than the stove, allowing for easy sliding in and out without scraping it against the Corian counter top edges. I...
Forgive the lack of step by step pictures, I didn't think to take any during the remodel process, so I will have to be descriptive in my work.
BACKSTORY
My Rig, a 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, started out with a 22" Magic Chef drop-in RV Range, which wasn't bad, but the oven on which was the one...
Re: What brand/model converter did the 2006 Bighorn Line use in the 3400RL?
Just an update on this, realized I got busy and never got back to some of my posts. The trailer did in fact have the Progressive Dynamics 9260 in her, I found the model when I pulled the partition wall to replace the...
I'm suspecting that the gas valve for the oven is likely borked, but my problem is two fold.
1.) The pilot will not stay lit unless I light it and then hold it in while starting the burner.
2.) The oven's thermostat doesn't work, period. You can set it to 265 degrees and it will heat up...
Re: What brand/model converter did the 2006 Bighorn Line use in the 3400RL?
I'm the second owner, and I've owned it approximately two months. Having done a lot of work on custom charging systems, I know that alot of RVs tended to come with poor quality converters, like Magnetek, Centurion...
Hey, just a quick question, but what brand/model of converter did Heartland use in 2006 on the Bighorn line? The unit's in the compartment that requires removing a number of screws and I haven't a chance to do so yet, so I was wondering what it might be, so I'll know if I need to upgrade it to...
Will do :).
I have an album of our on going work with our new site and our Heartland on my FB page :).
http://www.facebook.com/TheRedneckExpress
Album is named "New Trailer" :).
Thanks, didn't get a chance to do any register vent shopping this past weekend, was making new oak shelves for my entertainment center. My unit had the fireplace deleted when it was purchased by the first owner, leaving a somewhat useless cabinet with no bottom other than carpet, and no middle...
Aye, however, your unit is 5 years newer than mine and a Landmark vs a Bighorn :). All of the registers in my Bighorn are the same as the picture I posted, except for a round one on the side of the bathroom vanity, which confused me as to why they didn't use a rectangular vent pointed out...
Mk, there are 2x10 and 2x12 registers over at home depot, so I will poke through what they have as well. I found the specs for the original plastic units so I have something to work with. The bathroom register has a deflector in it and the vent opening is alot deeper than the others, so a...
I found something like what I need to do in this thread:
//heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/3309-Replacing-plastic-floor-registers
Sadly, it's closed and the product link is no longer valid.
Here's a picture that shows what my registers look like from that thread:
Is that a common type found at most hardware stores, or will I need to order them in? Do you, by chance, have the brand and part number of the ones you purchased?
Re: New owner of a barely used 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, things I should watch for during PDI to get fixed
Thanks all, the trailer is mine and is now at its new home where it'll be staying for the foreseeable future :). Sadly, like all PDIs, not all the things were fixed, so I will end up fixing...
Hey, I'm a proud owner of a 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3400RL, and I have a quick question.
Are the rectangular register vents in the floor a standard size that you can swap out with a more household style metal register that can be opened and closed?
The big register vent in the toilet room...
Re: New owner of a barely used 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, things I should watch for during PDI to get fixed
Thanks to all for the welcome, it's only a shame my heartland won't be out on the open road (She was bought to use as a weekend "cabin" for the immediate future) any time soon!
One of the...
sgtbigb, I'll have to dig around for it, as I don't have it handy, but it was a question I specifically asked and got written down that mobile tech service was covered as my unit is being delivered into my seasonal space and we won't have a means to move it once it's in.
Anyway, did the fine...
The only thing about the on-demands I don't like is the temperature maxes out at 120 and goes down from there as the flow increases and that they don't like really really hard water.
I'll have to double check, I poked my head into the fridge compartment when I was going over it and noticed it's a Swedish built unit, vs an American made unit. Would be nice if it held true on longevity on their swedish made units. My main traveling RV is nearly 40 and the fridge is...
Thanks all :). I forgot to post a link to the unit, the dealer still has it listed:
http://www.johnsonrv.com/inventory/318081/Used-2006-Heartland-Bighorn-3400RL.aspx
The tires are not the originals, those I did check before even going in on financing, they've only got to make one trip, as...
Suburban makes units up to 20 gallons that are propane or dual fuel. If there's enough clearance and you can stomach cutting a larger opening in the side of your rig and reframing it, it's not hard to go from 6 to 10 gallon. I've got a 10 gallon on my rig, would like to eventually upgrade it...
New owner of a barely used 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, things I should watch for during PDI to get fixed
Howdy all :), come tuesday next week, I will become the owner of a 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3400RL. The trailer is barely used and looks straight and sharp, and I will be going in for the PDI this...
