    Original thousand trails membership

Our Thousand Trails membership was purchased back in 1976. At this time, there was only 1 campground which was located in Chehalis, WA. This is one of the few "orginal" memberships left. Our yearly fees are only $60.00 per year and cannot be raised. The membership also includes features...

    Loved the RV living

I do have the Good Sam Travel Assist. policy. Unfortunately, our trlr is licensed in Oregon, parked in California and I need it in Texas. Good Sam will only transport "back-home" to Oregon. It would be my responsibility to get the trailer to Texas. So---no help.

    Heated mattress pads

We have a 2010 Big Horn 5th wheel. We have a heated mattress pad. We think they are so much better than an electric blanket. With the electric blanket, it's so easy to get the blanket all twisted up during the night. But with the heated mattress pad, the pad stays in one place. Always get...

    Concealed carry permits

I sure miss Alaska. We spent several years in that beautiful state. 3 years out of Sitka and 5 years out of Ketchikan. Working at logging camps. I always loved the float-plane rides. There is no state more perfect than Alaska.

    water-filters

We are full-timers. Have a 3670 38' 2010 Big Horn. We love our 5th wheel. We are from Oregon and have never had to worry about having good water. But, being in southwest, Arizona mostly, good water is not always available. We have talked to many people and there is as many water filter...

    Concealed carry permits

As always, you're the best. Not sure yet which smaller gun to choose, but you gave me several ideas. Thank you buckeyebob for your input. I would never choose a pink, blue, etc. color for a gun. I am so surprised that companies are allowed to manufacture guns in those colors. I can't...

For those who don't understand the reason for a CCW

Did I see and hear the news correct? Today, July 4th, there were several men and women in all branches of the service, being sworn in to become citizens of the United States. I was in the U. S. Navy and I thought you had to be a U. S. citizen prior to joining one of our branches of service...

Anyone have any camping chair recommendations?

We just purchased 2 camping chairs @ Camping World. One is a "Club Chair", paid $45 and I love it. I don't know how to describe it, but it is wonderful. The other chair is a "Wide Copper Rocker". paid $40 and hubby really likes it. We also paid $8 extra for each chair. This is for a 3-year...

    fridge and hot water tank

Thanks to you all for your suggestions. We are still greenhorns at this "full-time rv ing" and sure appreciate any help you can give us. It sounds like the problem with the hot water tank will be one for an authorized dealer to handle. What you have all said regarding the outside...

We have been full-timers for one year and love it. We have a 3670RL Big Horn and love it. We have been in Arizona and Nevada for a couple of months now and are having problems with the hot water tank and the fridge. Wondering if they are hot-weather related. My hubby and I are from...

For those who don't understand the reason for a CCW

I love all these comments. I was in the U.S. Navy and hubby was in the U.S. Army. We both have CCW's. Even though there are several things I would like to change, I love my country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Lovin' the USA.

Do you pre cook meals and freeze them for camping meals?

I don't do much freezing for future meals, except maybe for things like spaghetti. But I do like my salads, and with lots of veggies in them. So I prepare about 7 salads in small bowls. I put a wet paper towel over the salad and then saran wrap tightly over the salad bowl and stick it in the...

Thanks for the tips. We'll head to Douglas to see what the latest "scoop" is. We were only planning on parking our vehicle on the U.S. side and taking a van to Mexico. We just want to cross the border, not actually go "into" Mexico. Interested in what we can purchase and also on the...

    outside television

    outside propane heater/fire thing-a-ma-jig

Thank you all for your suggestions. So many to choose from. I think we might try the Little Red Camp Fire. If we can toast marshmellows, wienies, make smores and stay warm, I'll be a happy camper. We saw them in Camping World last week. We really prefer a "real" campfire, but that is...

    outside propane heater/fire thing-a-ma-jig

I am so cold-blooded, but at the same time love to spend time outside. This time of the year, even in California, (where we are now), it gets chilly at night. I would be so happy to find something to make the night warmer (at least for a couple of hours after the sun has gone down). I want...
