I'm embarrassed to say I haven't installed it yet.
Got back from Florida on April 1st and haven't gotten the camper back out since. I wasn't in any hurry because it worked fine on electric.
I have the new board and should get it in next week. Busy this week with the village wide garage sale...
Had to make some changes to our route and will not be staying very close to Baton Rouge. Will be about halfway between Baton Rouge and Houston for 2 days.
Here is the final route, most reservations already made and will be staying 1 night at some stops and 2 nights at others.
Departing from...
Our first stop, in Whittington IL, is the same one we have used for our Florida snowbird trips.
It's open year around and I drop the camper there in November for storage until we pick it up in January. Winters are a bit milder there, about 6 hours south of our home.
We will do 1night there and...
Thanks to all for sharing your experience.
After doing a bit of research we have decided on:
Pingree Grove, IL (home)
to
Whittington, IL (Whittington Woods CG is always our first stop)
to
Tom Sawyer CG in West Memphis, AR (our usual second stop)
to
Baton Rouge LA area CG
to
Beaumont, TX area...
Thanks to all for the tips!
I was wondering about the ferry. I understand it only runs at high tide. Is this true? And if so, how often does it run?
We pull a 35 foot 5th wheel, will the ferry take that?
We are staying on Mustang Island. Is there an alternative to the ferry if needed?
I think...
Yep, I replaced the igniter / sensor assembly since it's way cheaper than the board. But the problem is still there. So I agree on it most likely being a board issue.
Thanks John, I'll check that as well.
We are here in Florida for another 7 weeks or so and will have full hookups on the way home as well. So as long as the electric option is working it's not an emergency.
But it does give me something to play with. LOL
Hot water tank works fine on electric but not on propane. Tries to light 3 times and then goes into DSI Fault.
I can hear the solenoid click and smell gas but no spark at the ignitor / sensor. Removed it, cleaned and reset the gap, same problem. Removed the wire harness from the main board and...
Thanks uncledon,
We dont leave Illinois until the first week of January, that's why I'm a bit apprehensive about a southwest route.
Heading to Florida I take the route through Birmingham instead of Atlanta and hit Florida west of Tallahassee. Then travel east across the panhandle and south to...
While we usually snowbird in Florida, next year we will be heading down to Texas.
Undecided if it would be better to cut the angle and shorten the drive or to head straight south to I-10 and then go west.
Unfamiliar with winter weather on a southwest route.
Anyone have experience and advice...
Heartland Recreational Vehicles is recalling certain 2018 Heartland Sundance XLT TT travel trailers. The vehicles may have been incorrectly equipped with Load Range C tires instead of Load Range D tires.
Overloading the tires may result in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Heartland...
Due to unforeseen family obligations we wont be able to attend the rally. We hope you have wonderful weather, friendship and great food!

Re: Front cap leak...
Problem solved!
I went back to camper this morning with the intent to remove the rubber cap molding, screws and aluminum bracket along the bottom seam one the side where I was experiencing the dripping. Then spreading the black plastic from the front cap and wedge it...
Re: Front cap leak...
Actually we left Florida on April 1st. But February was the hottest on record down there and during our 10 week stay there were a few strong thunderstorms.
Arriving back in northern Illinois on April 20th (we stopped in Texas and Oklahoma to visit family) I put the camper...
Re: Front cap leak...
Thanks Dane,
I will, of course, check the area around the front AC and vent pipes. As you say, water can migrate and be tricky but I think the front cap seam is a good place to start. Hopefully there will be an obvious problem when I get up on the roof.
Going to remove...
Had my 2017 Sundance 3100 CK 5th wheel parked in Florida for 3 months. When it came time to leave I raised the front end to get it on the hitch and had some water run out from where the bottom of the front cap attaches to overhang. Obviously the caulking in this area is bad, but at least it let...
We are Illinois residents and will be headed for Florida on January 5th. We wont return home until April 20th so we will have to file our Illinois state taxes while on the road.
I was assuming that a local H&R Block in Florida would be able to do this but thought it best to ask around. Any...
Yep, it is an RV and not a stick built house and many people expect far too much.
But on the other hand I have to say that in some areas I'm disappointed with the build quality of my new Sundance. This isn't our first RV and the kitchen cabinet / drawer construction in this unit is very poor...
Another issue is the "chasing the 1/2 ton market".
There are so many 150's / 1500's out there the temptation for the RV industry is just overwhelming. Half ton towables are all the rage but the lighter they make these units the worse they become. Couple this with corporate greed and it spells...
I found this line in the article interesting. Haven't heard much about the " REV Group" before.
"Although REV Group is primarily a class A motor home builder, with its talent for building most anything, there is no reason whatsoever that it can’t easily move into building more class C’s, class...
We have also found rallies to be very clickish. Seems like if you don't have some kind of seniority your shunned. In my experience strangers at camping trips are more friendly than people at rallies.

Will be entering Montgomery on I65 and leaving on US 231. Looks like:
I65 to US 80 east
US 80 east to US 231 south
is the best route. Or am I missing something?
Dave & Ronna
I'll add that I'm very pleased with the Anderson hitch (I have the bed rail model) but never had a standard 5th wheel hitch so cant really speak to a comparison. No chucking, can hitch and unhitch at any angle and even at a pitch.
True that, and I knew it going in. But Heartland didnt do their part.
Stripped out screws, bent over staples and / or staples completely missing the supporting framework isn't the fault of the owner who chooses a rear kitchen model.
This isn't my first RV and but its some of the shoddiest...
I have an Anderson hitch on my 2017 Sundance. Had to take the unit to Goshen IN to have an auto level system installed at Lippert. They couldn't handle the kingpin adapter so I had to remove it and replace it when I picked it up 2 days later.
I had called ahead and confirmed that I would need...
Wanted to inform others of the issues I’m having with the drawers and cabinet in our 2017 rear kitchen 3100CK. We bought the unit new this past June and have less than 3 thousand miles on it.
The drawer below the fridge was the first to fail. The staples that hold the luan bottom to back of...
Will be headed down to Florida in January 2018. Looks like I can take either 231 or 331 from Montgomery AL to Interstate 10 in the FL panhandle. Would like to hear from others who have traveled either of these and what their experience was like.
Dave & Ronna
The sales guy at our dealership advised against ordering the TV option when we purchased our 3100CK. Said the cost was crazy and we could save a few hundred by installing our own.
My first thought is to cut down a door sweep to the right length and screw it into the cabinet above the sliding shelf. this would do a pretty good job of keeping the top of the shelf sealed when it's stowed or open. The bottom is another issue.......
I stand corrected. Once the menu is set up properly the outside speakers will work without the shore power being attached.
Tricky little unit! LOL
Dave
We have a new 3100CK which has a camp Kitchen.
I've noticed that with the camp kitchen open there is direct access from the sliding counter top to the area under the kitchen sink for insects and small critters to enter the camper. Have anyone come up with a fix for this?
We love our camp...
Well, I as going to spend some more time with the manual after breakfast but you're quicker on the draw.
Pressed and held the Zone 3 button for a second or two and sure enough, it opens the volume control for the outside speakers.
Not really concerned about the AC power being needed as we...
My radio is marked "iRV Technologies".
I cant find any fade control adjustment on the radio, in the manual or on the remote.
Here is the latest.
A week ago I went to the storage lot to verify the problem (the radio is DC of course). Turned on Zone 1 and volume control properly. Turned off...
My radio doesn't have a fade control, it uses a zone system instead. 3 zone buttons; living area, bedroom and outside. These can be turned on and off individually or all turned on together.
I have made an interesting discovery.
Stopped by the RV storage yard the other day to verify the...
