    Bighorn Carrying Capacity

Yup would like to stay 40' or under. Our RV port is 40' so under would be better for that. Thanks.

    Bighorn Carrying Capacity

Thanks Mrz. Hadn't thought of that occurring. Will bring this up with the wife and see what she says. Thanks Alan B. We could probably live with doing the same in a pantry but we really like the 3575el length over the 3675 length. Two feet isn't a big deal but I have this mental block at 40...

    Bighorn Carrying Capacity

Brian, Appreciate your input very much. The 3575 is one of the floor plans we're considering but the wife is concerned about the lack of a pantry and where to store pot/pans/dry/canned goods, etc. The 3675 is almost identical except a few feet longer (in the kitchen) and has a pantry so that is...

    Bighorn Carrying Capacity

Hi all, The wife and I are getting serious about the purchase of our next 5th wheel. We've narrowed within the Heartland brand to the Bighorn. My question is the two floor plans we like (3575EL & 3675EL) have listed carrying capacities of just under 3000# and 2500# respectively. These figures...

    What's in the Yeti Package

Thanks everyone for your inputs. Maybe someone from Heartland will chime in and confirm things. But I'm going to assume the brochure is a tad misleading and only the four things mentioned in the brochure (Radiant tech insulation in the caps, 110V tank heaters, 12 volt heated water line and 12V...

    What's in the Yeti Package

Sorry I probably wasn't clear. The brochure I'm looking at contains all the Big Horn models so the Yeti pkg should be the same on all Big Horns for 2016. At least that makes sense to me. Please correct me if my thinking isn't right.

    What's in the Yeti Package

Thanks Martha. But I would think the Yeti pkg is the same on any model otherwise it would be anarchy. ;)

It's the brochure that covers all models.

    What's in the Yeti Package

Ok so looking at the 2016 brochure, it gives you the impression that the Yeti pkg will give you a bunch of stuff. But I'm thinking it only provides the radiant technology insulation in the caps, 110V holding tank heating pads, insulated main water line and the 12 volt auto sensing heater line...

That's a great diagram. Ditto on needing that for all our rigs. Thanks.

    Bh-3575el

Trying to find out the the configuration of the gray tank(s) for this model.Capacity is listed as 90 gals. Is this split between galley and head? Is this one tank for washing machine drain and one for galley/head (I hope not)? If they are split, what are the individual capacities? Thanks.

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Tom I just re-read your original post and noticed something. You're only calling out two colors. It appears past FBP colors were four (Cappuccino: Black, burgundy, tan & white Sterling: Gray, black, burgundy & white) . Is this a change? Or are you only calling out the primary colors for each scheme?

I think I just realized you're referring to the logo's only. I'll catch up. :o

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Tom, thanks for providing info. In the above information, is this a change from the practice Heartland has done in the past? E.g., the fact that the FBP now uses decals?

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Good question and an answer I'd be interested in seeing. The Bighorn Premier Package (which I believe is mandatory) states "Painted Front Cap" as standard (what about the rear cap?) and the option is listed for "Ivory sidewalls with painted chocolate front and rear caps". Reading this, one might...

Thanks everyone for your replies. I especially appreciate the pictures and comments based on experience. I'm starting to get that FBP is a worthwhile option.

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Yes the wife is less interested in the paint option due to the cost while I am on the fence. Although I could probably convince her, the justification is more for me. Beautiful coach Oregon Camper! That is also the color the wife likes best of the two choices. I assume you're in the Oregon...

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Thanks Oregon Camper. So your current Heartland Bighorn has the full body paint option? If so, are you satisfied with the quality of the paint? I ask this because I had a suggestion that a $10K paint job isn't a good quality paint job. Although a blog I follow, who had their 5th wheel painted...

Ok thanks for that Jmgratz. A definite nod towards paint.

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

Thanks for the input. So to Jayc's point, if I protect the decals will they not last as long as paint? That's the key point I'm not sure of. If I do protect the decals the same way I would protect the paint (let say wax both with 303 Protectant or similar once per year), is there really any...

    Full Body Paint vs Decals

I've posted this question in another forum and some of you belong to that one as well. I wanted to widen my pool of knowledge because although I received good responses, I haven't been able to get to the details of the why. So here is my question, with a little more added detail compared to the...

    Bighorn vs Big Country

Thanks for the input Gaffer. That was the other thing I was wondering about between the two. Option-wise, what I don't see on the list is disc brakes. They have them for the Landmark but not the BH. So that will mean converting later.

    Bighorn vs Big Country

Dan & Ann: I'm glad to hear Heartland has stood behind their product. Thank you for your response. Thank you Martha. It seems like you went through a similar path we have gone so far in trying to decide what rig would be our retirement RV. Once we purchase whatever rig we buy, our intent is...

    Bighorn vs Big Country

I will admit I am very jaded to the mass-market manufacturers when it comes to quality. I have not seen much out there that impresses me. And its mainly about the attention to detail. When I see wiring and hoses all twisted around each other forming a rats nest, when I see trim that is crooked...

    Bighorn vs Big Country

Hello all. New member here doing research. Wife and I saw the Big Country and were impressed. We thought the Big Country was their higher-end model but looking at the Bighorn, I think the pecking order to be the Landmark, Bighorn and Big Country. Can someone confirm this? And then wondered if...
