Water leak and now a major floor replacement?

Re: Respectfully declined Time for a further update. After a period of consideration (April 14th to April 22nd) Heartlands customer service replied to me that based on their policy regarding seals and sealants and the age of the unit they will not participate in any repairs. I am not and...

ATF: Sundance - Recommended door maintenance

I have a 2009 3300RC and would like to know what the recommended methods for maintaining and inspecting the garage ramp door and openings. This is the first toyhauler I have owned and I want to be certain that I maintain this aspect as designed to prevent any further issues.

Water leak and now a major floor replacement?

Respectfully declined OK, time for a further update. I talked to our dealer service manager today, and he relayed to me the response from Heartland, which included the known facts that the unit is out of it's 1 year warranty period and that all claims should be submitted within that time...

Water leak and now a major floor replacement?

Just a brief update: According to the service manager at the dealer, all the information has been forwarded on to Heartland and they in turn were contacting the manufacturer of the door system to determine if there are any recalls or other technical issues. At this point the garage is still...

Water leak and now a major floor replacement?

We stopped at our dealer, Chesapeake RV Solutions, on Friday and went over the issue. They were very receptive, as always, and fully documented our problem along with a bunch of pictures. They will submit the issue to Heartland we'll go from there. They were in agreement that the extent of...

Ramp door leak and water damage

I discovered a major issue with my Sundance toyhauler this week and wanted to add a cross post here to see if I can get some constructive input. Heartland only produced 1 toyhauler in the Sundance line, the 330RC, and my issue is with the ramp door sealing. I've posted the topic in the...

Water leak and now a major floor replacement?

Last weekend we took the 5vr (2009 Sundance 3300RC) out for the first time this year and had a very unpleasant surprise. Our daughter and her friend were using the bunks in the garage and when we were packing up found that the leg of the fold down bunk had pierced through the floor! The wood...

    Over the Air TV

We saw these at the Richmond RV show yesterday and their factory rep was there also. He stated the Jack was made by the manufacturer of King Dome. The picture quality on the demo TV they had set up was very impressive He recommended adding a digital TV signal meter like this one...

I need help checking a truck in Port Richey, FL

I found a nice tow rig I'm very interested in purchasing, but I have just one small problem - it is 800 miles away! The truck is in Port Richey, FL and I am in Williamsburg, VA. I thought I would give it a shot to see if someone on here might be able to give it a look over for me next...

How many miles on your Tow Vehicle?

We've got 175,000 miles on our 1996 F-250, 2WD, 7.3L Powerstroke. Avg between 10 and 11 MPG towing the 5vr, around 17 MPG empty. Could probably do better if I could keep it below 60MPH :)

Just mopped mine with Dawn last week. Mop worked pretty good as I could control the runoff.

    Tire shredded

Tire pressure is the number one cause of tire failure, but we already knew that. It would be rare to say the least if you get any sort of warranty from a tire failed in this manner. After over 20 years in auto and truck repair, in my experience if a tire has failed to the point of shredding it...

    Hampton Roads Virginia RV Show

I thought this was the show we were at last year and saw the Heartland products up close for the first time? We do go to several shows, so maybe my memory is a bit sketchy. I do know RV Solutions was at the one we went to because that's how we first found them! :D It's very...

    Chesapeake RV Solutions

We've had nothing but great service from the RV Solutions, both sales and service. I highly recommend them. Don't forget, there may still be time to join us (with or without your new RV) at Misty Mountain! I can't remember the deadline, but I know Gus does :)

    Replacement Storage Compartment Locks

The new paddle latches are pretty cool and look like a big upgrade from the traditional style ones. I saw them last month at the dealer but I think they are available on the 2010 models only at this point.

    roof sealers

Great, Jim! That is a wealth of information. I know the seams need resealing, they have on every roof I've had, but was not sure about the sealing. It sounds like most of us just keep it clean and watch the joints.

    roof sealers

Why are you sealing a new roof? Is this recommended in your climate area? From everything I've read they just need cleaned a few times a year and avoid any petroleum based products. Does the sealer help prevent streaking on the sides of the trailer?

    Ramp door jammed

Resolution!! Well i talked the dealer today and they found the issue with the door. The top rail of the frame is not square to the opening so the front portion, where it stuck, is actually lower than the rest giving little (or no) room for body flex. I had to cut it hard to get it into the...

    Range top cover

Our Sundance 3300RC does not have a range cover either. When we were at the dealer last week we toured a number of other new models and noticed that none of the Sundance models have a range cover. The Landmark did have one that blended with the counter top though, very nice! I think you can...

    12 volt outlet in 3670 or 3580?

Our '09 Sundance did not come with any 12V outlets. I have added one in the living room TV cabinet, though. I use it for the satellite radio - portable unit that I can switch from truck to camper. Also great for a small inverter if there is no shore power available.

    Electrical problem

I had that issue when we were set up in a temporary spot in Ft Lauderdale. I checked the rig and realized that the issue was with all the breakers on one leg of the service. Had to do a little 'creative work' to get the A/C to run! The problem was with the CG, not the trailer. I bet yours is...

    Is this normal?

As soon as I get feedback from the dealer I'll fill you all in here. I'm sure you are right on the expansion thing, Lefty. We spent the holidays in the FL Keys and I do believe the issue was a bit more evident - I have a tendency to think it is my imagination (or paranoia) but they seemed...

    Is this normal?

Dropped the 5vr at the dealership today (Chesapeake RV Solutions) and had a chance to climb 4 other ladders and see most of the inventory. Most of the roofs were totally smooth, maybe a small bubble or ripple here and there. Mine is definately WAY looser. It was bitter cold (in the high 20's...

    Is this normal?

It was about 65 degrees when I snapped the pictures. Temps have been a little low for the area at around 30 to 40 degrees average. The roof looks the same cold or hot - even after 2 weeks in the FL sun the wrinkles were about the same. It would seem to me that if the EPDM contracted it would...

    Is this normal?

OK, another of my questions for the dealer later this week is about the roof. This is the first unit I've owned with a rubber roof - the previous ones all had aluminum - and I'm not too sure what to expect. If this is normal for the EPDM membrane, OK, if not then what? I guess I'm a little...

    Ramp door jammed

Pictures Some pictures to help clarify. After looking at the position of the rear jack I can see how it may have contributed to the movement in the door frame but I've never had this issue before.

    Ramp door jammed

truknutt - the 3300RC has a side load garage, not the usual rear loading ramp door. I do believe the door frame was (is) racked over, but because of the side door I am a bit more concerned than if it were a rear door. Yes, there are a series of hinges along the bottom, I don't recall how many...

    Hitch advice needed

The Heartland website shows the 3055RL with a GVWR of 14,000 lbs and a dry weight of just over 11,000 lbs. A Reese 15K is suitable for the application by these numbers being rated at 15000 lbs. Some people prefer to add in a little 'cushion' with the hitch rating if possible. I believe hitch...

    Ramp door jammed

We experienced a somewhat worrying problem with the FunHauler when we were in FL over the holidays. At one point when set up I could not get the ramp door to open even with quite a lot of force pushing from the inside. I finally pulled up the rear jacks (not sure if this really helped...

    Last Call for Rally Reservations!

We can't wait! I've worked with Misty Mountain on events before and they are SUPER so I'm sure they will do everything they can to accommodate any late arrivals. Now I just need to get the FunHauler to the dealer for a few warranty issues (75 mile trip each way) and we should be ready to go!

    Virginia Beach campground

We've stayed in both the parks on Gen Booth and both are very good. Rang in the millennium at the KOA in fact! Our personal preference is the Holiday Travel Park. Kiptopeke is also a great park, but the toll is pretty steep at something like $20.00 each way with the trailer.

How about a Landmark with a Garage???

Let me chime in on the 3300RC as we absolutley LOVE ours. The side load garage is large enough for our golf cart, plus when unloaded it doesn't feel like a garage as there is no diamond plate or black floors. Our Super Slide makes the living space really livable. One of things that appealed...

    2009 FunHauler 3300RC in VA

Hello everyone! We recently purchased our 3300RC from Chesapeake RV Solutions and absolutely LOVE it! Even with the rocky start of a water leak in the slide that soaked the carpet and casement on our first outing - the dealer was fantastic and fixed it right away and perfectly. The FunHauler...
