EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: GA, Savannah - 10/18/2018 to 10/21/2018

I just got another camping couple to join the rally as well and I'm posting for them as well as they are computer illiterate. LOL. They are new to the camping world and I thought it was a good idea to get their feet wet with a good bunch of experienced campers and meet new friends! If you can...

427 at Santos Campground, Ocala, FL

We did some mountain bike riding this past weekend. Nice little campground. Not full hookups but easy access dump station on the way out and $22/night. Kinda tight where we were but good shade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Swapped out the mattress.

We had to use the RV during the hurricane and just had another camping trip this past weekend. We are SOO happy with the new memory foam gel top res queen over that piece of garbage RV king that was in it before. She has more room and it is much easier to make the **** bed as well.

    Towing and shocks...

I haven't scaled her yet but the pin with it loaded up is about 4k. It didn't sag but was on the overload leafs which gave us a rough ride. This brought the smooth ride back. Here is a post pic with the unloaded RV. Before: After: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Towing and shocks...

First tow complete. Better ride hands down. It's not sitting on the overload springs anymore. I brought the rear up 2-3 inches. Took about 60psi in the bags. I was surprised but it's a heavy pin. Truck rode great and the trailer is still very level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Swapped out my 12v DCM For Trojan 6v

Prepping for future solar but in the meantime, we had a hurricane in Florida and as you know the fridge in the RW427 is not a propane/electric unit. Only runs in the battery via an inverter. So, this mod will let the fridge run quite a bit longer between the generator use when we have no power...

    Towing and shocks...

I got the Firestone bags installed along with the Riderite wireless compressor this past Friday. Also went ahead and put in Bilstein 5100s. The first tow with the new toys is this weekend. So far the ride is improved over stock. Will give feedback come next week. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Oil Change Intervals

I go by the computer which usually is about 7000-7500 miles on my truck. I just did the 4th oil change at 28k. It had a little life left but had a tow planned so did it early to prep for the tow. I did the fuel filter at 15k and it still looked new.... My computer told Me I still had 38% left...

A few shots of the shakedown trip on the new 427. Loved it!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Swapped out the mattress.

In the 427 if you have the RV king bed you have zero room on the camping side. That's my wife's side. So after sleeping on that so-called mattress we decided to swap it out with a 12 inch high memory foam. At the same time we figured go with a residential queen and then modify the bed pedestal...

    Towing and shocks...

So just did the first tow with the new Road Warrior 427 and the truck towed it well. The only thin I noticed is that it did squat the truck about 4-5 inches or so ( I need to measure the exact). The truck is not sagging by no means. It is sitting level, BUT... It is sitting on the overload...

Axle Alignment - Pics - Requesting Opinions

Ok my last fiver with a max weight of 12k I used commercial grade LT truck tires. Firestone Transforce HT. Great tires and never had an issue in 4 years. What's is the weight of your unit? There are G load tires in your size but you would need wheels to handle the air pressure ect. Sent...

My tow rig for our Heartland

Thanks for the invite! it does. Tows like a dream! I haven't decided if I'm gonna go with the air bags yet. I have a tow to St Augustine end of the month and I'll see how it goes. The truck still sits level.

My tow rig for our Heartland

Love your color! On this RV we went with the new Anderson Ultimate 2 Hitch. So far I love it. Easy to set up and very smooth. My last coach I used the Reese Goosebox. Another great Hitch but they didn't have any 20k units in stock anywhere in the country.

    Another 427 question. 2017 or 2018???

We looked at both. The only thing I saw different on the 2018 was the Canadian winter package. Otherwise they are identical.

    What truck to buy?

Better to have more truck and does give you growing room for upgrades down the road. HD trucks do everything better when it comes to towing. Big factor is safety as well. Today's HD trucks also ride very well and can be a daily driver with ease. Good luck!

My tow rig for our Heartland

We are pretty new to the forum and our Heartland. We have had it for a week and are doing our personal touches on it now. Our first tow with it is in two weeks to St Augustine for a little beach camping trip. i wanted to post up what we tow our Road Warrior 427 with. This is our 2016 Denali...

    New Tow Vehicle

Apples to oranges from your 2008 and the new 2018. Lol. In the last decade the big three has made some monsterous leaps in diesel truck technology. But I get where you are coming from. I've had diesels ranging back to my 2003 7.3.

To delete or not delete (DPF/EGR)

On my 2014 Duramax I deleted it at 35k and across the board I got 2-4mpg improvement. It cost me a tick over $1000 to do it. The turbo back 4 inch exhaust and a Motor Ops tune. Truck ran like a scaulded cat! The good thing about this tuner is that I'm now using it on my 2016 with the...

Massaged the OEM surround sound in the '18 Warrior 427

We just picked up our new Road Warrior 427 last week and we have been organizing, adding some needed towel, hand towel, and toilet paper holders, ect. We sat the other night and watched a movie and found out that the oem surround sound is just mediocre. I also found out the oem subwoofer in...

Thanks for the nice welcomes! We did the walk through yesterday. They still have to swap the surge system from my old unit and install the backup camera. My new Anderson Ultimate 2 will be here on Monday so will be set to pick up on Tues. Here is a pic of the unit for the walk through:

    New Goose box hitch attached

Maybe it is the 50 psi. I tried quite a few different air pressure settings on my old setup and it got better but on bumpy stretches of highway where you had the evenly spaced expansion joints it was never as smooth or controlled at the 3500 without the bags. My thought was with 2 sets of bags...

    New Goose box hitch attached

I had a similar issue with my 2500 Chevy with airbags. The airbags on the truck are fighting with the airbags on the hitch and being counter productive. On my 3500 I don't have bags and the Reese is smooth as silk. - - - Updated - - - I had my local stereo shop install a backup camera in the...

Officially joined Road Warrior owners today

Congrats on the new RW. We signed ouR papers on our new 427 yesterday and will take delivery next Friday. I'm glad I upgraded to a 3500 DRW last year because I will need it. Lol. You will love the new Ford with that 6.7 PS.

Wanted to introduce ourselves. The Martins from Ocala, FL. We just signed the papers tonight for our new 2018 Road Warrior 427 with a delivery day next Friday. What a beautiful beast! We traded in our 2014 Forest River V-Cross Platinum 365VTSB on it. That was our first Rv and we loved it...
