Hi Jeff,
Just looked at my post and realized I didn't give you an arrival and departure date. We will arrive on the 19th and depart on the 22nd.

Howdy,
We bought a 2018 4270 in February of this year. Only had it out twice as it was pummeled with hail in June. So far we have had no warranty issues but did have a new roof replaced and most of the skirting as well due to the hail storm. So far we are very happy with the rig.

There is an app called the RV Checklist which someone on this forum turned me on to. It has a bunch of checklists already and the option to edit those checklists or create new ones. As you click each item in the list, a check appears which is helpful when you (at least I) get distracted. I don't...
A couple of pictures would help. Luckily they run from 12V which means any decent car stereo should work as a replacement as long as it is the same size. Most head units come in two DIN sizes so if you measure the opening we could determine what size will work.
Finding out that the rear gray tank drains to the front sewer outlet was trial and error ... mostly error! Luckily just gray water. After that I decided to drain everything and put water in each sink and toilet individually and watched where it drained. It would be nice if the manual would state...
I have a 4270 as well and here's what I've figured out so far.
Front gray tank is for the front bathroom sink and shower and the valve is underneath the slide and it comes out the front sewer outlet
Front black tank is for the front bathroom toilet and the valve is underneath the slide and it...
Rick and Jim,
I would like to echo your thoughts. I am new to the Heartland world as of February this year when we bought our 2018 Cyclone 4270. We looked for several months and this was the floor plan we wanted and I watched this site for several weeks before buying the 4270. I have found a lot...
We are still planning to attend assuming our Cyclone 4270 is out of the shop by then. New roof and other damage thanks to hail storms. Right now it looks like we should make it with fingers and toes crossed! This will be our first rally so we are really looking forward to it.

Hello,
It's been a while since I started this thread about installing E-Track on the walls of the garage, but I finally have a solution others may be interested in. The thread started out by asking where wall studs are in the garage. I have a Cyclone 4270 and wall studs are behind the HappyJack...
I agree 100%. We have the advantage of being able store it on our property so a cover makes sense. I had already been looking at covers like that but now I will get more serious about it. The good news is I just talked to our insurance agent and it looks like they are going to replace the full...
For folks who live in the Denver area, last week was a dramatic weather week. Monday night we had up to baseball sized hail. Luckily the vehicles were in the garage as the neighbors vehicles suffered broken windshields and badly dimpled bodies. Our brand new Cyclone 4270 didn't fair as well. All...
For the auto-level, our Cyclone 4270 would not find level when you auto-level. There is a procedure using the touch-screen in the basement that I followed to manually level the rig and then set the new level in the auto-level. So far it has found level every time now.

Mine does the same thing. My theory is that it has reached the thermostat set point and is in a fan-only mode with the compressor shut off as part of a shut down process and then gets turned back on by the thermostat. As it continues to cool in the coach, it eventually stops doing it. It is...
Hello,
We are new to the Heartland Owners Club for the Mountain region. We are #2 on the waiting list for Montrose. Very popular event!!

Dcopenhaver,
That is definitely out of the box thinking!! In Colorado we don't have a lot of humidity so I haven't seen that yet but I'll keep an eye out for it. However, you gave me an idea. I took my metal stud finder outside and was able to detect studs on both sides of the windows. Now I can...
Greetings and Happy Monday!
I have a 2018 4270 and I would like to mount some E-Track to the walls so I can store things against the wall and strap them to the wall using the E-Track so the don't fall over or bounce around. A good example is the stairs for the side deck and rear deck. With a...
We talked to a local RV dealership (the one we bought the 5th wheel from). They gave us the trainer's name. The trainer was awesome and very patient. We even learned how to navigate through roundabouts which looked pretty scary at first but once you learn the techniques, they're pretty easy.

I'm not sure if this will help or not but my wife and I bought a 4270 just a couple of months ago. It is 44' long and the longest trailer I had pulled was 22'. My wife had never pulled a trailer before. In Colorado we found a trainer that spent a day with us in our truck and trailer and got both...
This is a great thread. I have a new 2018 Cyclone 4270 and while I don't have this issue now, I'm all about preventative maintenance. Where is everyone going to buy the Cat additive? A Google search has left me empty unless you are finding a local cat dealership and buying it there. The eBay...
Thanks. Looking forward to getting involved with the local chapter. However, looks like we'll be in Ohio that weekend. First long trip with the new rig!

BAT,
I've been trying to figure out the logic of using the bedroom thermostat for the furnace instead of the more centrally located one. I think you have the answer. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing.
Al
NWILSON,
Thanks for the feedback. I haven't even tried the heat strip in the garage AC unit. That's a great idea. The 4270 doesn't have a furnace or at least ours doesn't so our heat will have to come from the furnace.

Hello everyone,
I am new to Heartland and new to this forum. We just bought a 2018 Cyclone 4270. This unit has 3 A/Cs; front bedroom, mid, and garage. Each has it's own thermostat. When we went through the walk-through with the technician, he stated that the furnace was run by the mid thermostat...
