Had an accident with my new camper yesterday, I removed the door when i put the slide out.

I've got bungee cords with the 1" diameter plastic balls on about all my cabinets. If 2 pulls are close enough to each other I bungee them together. Also use them on the wire shelves in the pantry. I'm looking to replace all the latches. Maybe with magnet style. 2018 OSHKOSH.

    Turn the refrigerator off?

Thanks! That worked. Turned the breaker back off and turned the inverter off on the interior panel. Apparently i'm wore out worse than I thought. LOL

    Turn the refrigerator off?

Me again. 2018 Landmark Oshkosh with Insigna refer. I can't figure out how to turn it off. I want to have the 5th plugged in to run the A/C, lights, etc. But, I want the refer off so I can leave the doors open to allow it to dry out after use. I have done this before by turning the breaker off...

    Drums to discs

We just had Performance Trailer Braking do a drum to disc brake conversion. They came down from Norman Oklahoma to our home near Houston Texas. Got here about 10am and finished around 4 pm. $2800 for parts for our 8000# axles and $1000 labor. Preston and Alyssa knew what they were doing and had...

    Upgraded TMPS

I just tried that. I will say it was just a bit better, but I was in my garage, not out in the sun. I have removed the tire transmitters and packaged everything back up for shipment. I'll call TST next week and see what they want to do. I want them to test it and be sure it's set-up right and...

    Upgraded TMPS

So you are using it mounted in the center? You can see it from the drivers seat but your wife in the passenger seat can't? That is strange. I'll try it in the center. I really didn't want it there though.

    Upgraded TMPS

I bought the TST color unit a few weeks ago. I need to call them (again) about not being able to see it. I had to go in a dark room to set it up initially. Using the vacuum mount on the windshield with the monitor low on top of my Ram dashboard close to the A pillar I can only see an occasional...

    Washer & dryer choices

We didn't have a wall in the closet, just a clothes rod all the way across side to side. I put side by side Magic Chef 2.0 cu ft washer ($269) and 3.5 cu ft dryer ($311) in there. The dryer barely fit front to back. Got them from Home Depot. Also bought extended warranty for about $75 each. No...

    Lug nuts

Well said. I was thinking if a man could grab a 17.5" wheel and LR H tire and run with it, he can keep it. - - - Updated - - - I could use that $4,000 somewhere else but I'm doing it.

    Lug nuts

Good idea. I have an ongoing email conversation with them about a disc brake conversion. That would be a good time to put the new lug nuts on. They did mention that they owned a Heartland. Do you think your new lug nuts are duplex or solid? 7/8" or 3/4" ?

    Lug nuts

I have found this: Bulge Acorn Lug Nut 9/16-18 Chrome 3/4" Hex Flat Top 1.9" Tall — Lug Nut Guys Looks like the fakes (duplex) are 7/8" and the solids are 3/4".

    Lug nuts

My lug nuts are apparently separating which I guess means that they are the cheap 2 piece style...a lug nut with a fake cover. I am concerned that they will strip and spin at the worst possible time..on the side of the road. I went to my local ORielly auto parts and they had Dorman brand but not...

    Switch??

Yes it is. Can't believe I stood there turning the switch off and on and didn't see lights. THANKS!!

    Switch??

I now recall reading that the front exterior outlet is switched. Could be it. I'll test that soon. It's not the awning strip LED lights.
  16. T

    Switch??

It's not the water pump. That one is clearly labelled on the touch buttons. I was thinking it's the step light. I have turned the switch both ways and looked at the amber light under the steps and see no difference. Maybe a bad fixture or bulb though. I also looked in the door frame for a light...

    GEN Y pinbox

On the GEN Y website they say Lippert is investigating their pin box and it should be approved soon. But that has been on there for quite a while. The early GEN Y pin boxes had some issues hitting the truck bed sidewalls. They have either shortened them or changed the angles on them. I talked...

    GEN Y pinbox

Yeah I'm close, but I think the Goosebox is what I'm going to. I talked to a dealer and he was a bit worried about the GEN Y like my repair shop is. He said he has installed 60+ Gooseboxes with no issues.

    GEN Y pinbox

I'm wanting to get rid of my hitch and end up with a clean truck bed. I thought about a Reese Goosebox but they don't have one rated high enough for my pin weight...4,000#+. Has anyone used a GEN Y pinbox on a heavy 5th wheel? The Oshkosh is rated at 18,000GVW and I'm usually 17,400+/-. GEN Y...

    Furnace amps

Hey thanks! I'll take a look at that. I just finished doing a "Houston" winterization of the Landmark and the Bigfoot cabover. WalMart ran out of RV antifreeze so I drained the tanks in both and put a small heater in the Bigfoot and turned the furnace on in the 5th. I had 1 gallon of antifreeze...

    Furnace amps

Appreciate the offer but I've got it under control. My son is usually my help but he is working nights, 12 hour shifts. I got the propane topped off. Didn't tell the wife I was packing those tanks around. Got my extension cords run to the Oshkosh and to the Bigfoot. Waiting on the DIL to come...

    Furnace amps

Yeah it's in the backyard, well, the side yard, my "junkyard". We have 3 grandkids here today. Between them and a lack of sleep, I may not be communicating very well. LOL I'll get out there tomorrow and check the propane. I drained the water heater last night, I'll be sure the tanks are empty...

    Furnace amps

How many amps does a furnace normally pull? Rather than do a complete winterize I'm thinking of draining tanks and then just plugging into a 20 amp outlet to keep the batteries up. Doable? We have record breaking low temps forecast for the Texas coast. Everybody is getting all worked up. I'm...

Oshkosh - is it ok to extend outer slide (in slide) only?

Re: Oshkosh slide in a slide Great. We're heading to Richmond, VA in a few weeks for a NASCAR race. Haven't taken the Oshkosh there before. The sites are fairly narrow.

Oshkosh - is it ok to extend outer slide (in slide) only?

I have a question I've been wondering about for a time. If I'm in a real tight spot is it OK to extend the bedroom, but not the bed slide, and sleep on the bed? Occasionally or anytime or never?

Saga of the BAL tire carrier

Saga of the BAL tire carrier

Yes that does look better, When I saw that BAL round tubing all bowed up trying to support that 17.5 " tire and steel wheel I thought square tubing would be stronger. Plus the Lippert just winches up rather than wrestling around in the mud trying to mount the spare on those 2 bolts. THANKS!!

Saga of the BAL tire carrier

When we bought the Oshkosh slightly used (?) I had the dealer remove the Bal undermount tire carrier because I thought it would drag on the inclined driveway entrance. I stored the spare in the bay storage. I later decided it might clear and decided to put the carrier back on. It had been...

    Tire Change Procedure

I will add what I learned during my recent blowout. It will take forever for a roadside service to get to you. While I was standing around waiting I got started on the process. I jacked up the 5th and took the flat tire off. Then I started on removing the spare off the underbody carrier. I had...
