Insurance claim setteled - I am satisified for the first time ever.

I could not believe what Progessive did for me. Had a minor crash last Sept. Within 48 hrs of calling them the adjuster was in my yard and gave an estimate and sent me a check 3 days later, turns out my dealer was able to fix it under deductible and I had funds left over . Never ,ever had that...

    Gettysburg Battlefield campground

Been to Gettysburg several times, you will find many stone markers and monuments all along the roadway and walking areas, stop and read they are interesting, they explain what outfit fought at that site and other details. Across the street from Little Round Top find the trail that you can walk...

    Bed Room Slide Seals

Just did my top seal on the kitchen slide yesterday . I m talking about the D seal that slides on a track. Bought about 35 feet on amazon for $84. There is a screw on each end to hold it in place. Takes only a few mins., I had the slide out only about 6" or so which makes for easy access with a...

    EGT Gauge suggestions

I have the Edge CTS gauge. This will monitor quite a number of functions on your truck , you get to pick which. I monitor egt's , trans temp, boost, then in the corners of the screen I have intake air temp and an on/off display which tells me if the truck is doing a regen or not. All these...

    Suggestions Campground near Charleston, SC

We stayed at Mt Pleasant twice and found it very nice. There is a small rustic restaurant north about 7 miles called the Seewee, has the best Shrimp and Grits we found in the area. Your not far from Shem Creek where there are a number of restaurants and also Patriots Point where you can tour the...

How many of you are towing with a short bed truck?

I've been towing my Sundance for more than 4 yrs. and have never had a problem, I too have been in some tight turns. Don't use a slider hitch either, maybe different with bigger trailer but no problems for me!

    Air Ride Poll

I was able to install the Firestones myself , no drilling involved. Stopped the chucking I was getting. I fill manually and the inlets are in my wheel wells since each had the perfect size hole there. I run 20 - 25 psi , so far they have been fine. Had them on about 4 yrs.

Ahhhh, the second of the two best days !

Had a Grady back in the late '80's and '90's , then went w/o one for a couple yrs. Couldn't stand not having one so near the Shore so went to a 16' Aluminum with only a 25 hp and use for crabbing from May to Oct. I can handle it myself and I burn about 20 gals. Of fuel for the season, and we eat...

    Love my 2011 Dodge 2500

Deleting means eliminating ,at least, the DPF. That's the particulate filter. In order to prevent the Check Engine Light from staying on you need a Smarty or H&S programmer which can turn off the light at startup. On the older models ,like mine ,the EGR valve can be unplugged and that will...

    Love my 2011 Dodge 2500

From one retired Plant Mgr. to another I concur. My 07 performs very well but I have done a few mods to further help. Driving the Eastern flatlands I can get 13 - 14 mpg. The few times I have been in any mountainous terrain it gets into the 10- 101/2 range. With the exhaust brake there are no...

Towing 5th Wheel with RAM 2500 short bed with RAMBOX

I'm confused as to why this was needed? I tow my Sundance with a Ram shortbed and have never had a problem with my Reese hitch without a slider. Is it because of the 5th wheel I tow?

Bilstein shock 4600 series or 5100 series

I installed the 4600 series a few months ago. The ride is pretty good with the Trailer hooked up but not as soft as I remember my previous truck that had the 5100 series. Neither truck is lifted. Last week I dropped the rear tire pressure down to 50psi from 60 psi and that seemed to help. Of...

How often do you drive the tow vehicle or drive the motorhome?

I can't get my wife to drive the truck empty let alone hooked to the trailer! You guys are very fortunate to get a bit of a driving break even if just a few hrs. on the Intertates.

    Gas or diesel

It won't pull like a diesel and fuel mileage will be bad, I'd bet under 10mpg. I think a BC is too much trailer for a gas pickup.

    Which air Bag System

I bought and installed the Firestone air bag system and if I remember right I ordered them for my Dodge and they went on using only simple wrenches, not one hole had to be drilled. No interference with any part of the exhaust system and they even provided a small metal shield to protect the bag...

    Diesel life

The 06 Ram with the 5.9L cummins should last a long time. It was built before all the environmental junk was installed such as the egr valve and cooler and the DPF filter.Your fuel mileage should be good and it's easy to add a bit more power with a programmer if you want to. Good luck with your...

120v on 30 amp enough for running a/c?

I plug into my shed also and it's hooked up to a dedicated 20 amp breaker. I use a RV 30 amp cord to reach the 30 amp cord from my trailer and it works fine for most uses. I've run the A/C also but only the A/C. We don't use the setup to camp in so it works for us when doing work in the unit...

    Ram 2500 & Elkridge e30

I just checked a Ram website and the 2014 2500 SLT with 3.42 rear and the 6.7 L diesel was speced at 2977 lbs. payload. Your door sticker cannot be correct! Heck I think the 1500's are around the 1900 lb range. You will be fine towing that trailer.

    Ram 2500 & Elkridge e30

Are you sure about that payload? That sounds light for a 2014 Ram. If the towing capacity is 17000 lbs. I think the payload is well over 2000 lbs.

2013 Ram 2500 HD Cummins issue

Sounds like a reset is needed. Have you checked the Manual for how to reset the various maintenance issues? Mine is older and doesn't have the air filter warning but does have a warning for oil change which requires a reset by turning on the ignition and pumping the accelerator 3 times.

    hitching problem

Best places to go during the Summer

There are so many to chose. Personally I'd stay away from the big Nat'l Parks due to the crowds. I'd prefer the coast of Maine altho some places can get crowded. The Northern area of Michican is great especially around Cherry season early July. Also can get crowded depending on how remote you...

which TOW vehicle gets best fuel mileage towing and empty?

I never weighed my Sundance but considering the factory weight and our stuff I would guess between 10500 and 11000 lbs. My driving speeds are 60 -62 mph , I slowed it down from a few yrs. ago. I ave. between 12 and 13 mpg depending on wind and terrain. I set my Tuner on level 2 which adds about...

    Added an auxiliary tank

I have the 37 gal RDS and have never gotten more than 34 Gal in it. When I first installed it I found I would get some overflow in the truck bed on a hot day. After a call to RDS they supplied a piece of hose and fitting that allows any dripping out the bottom, I think they supply those parts...

    Campground recommendation in WV

    Engine Temp

Agree, my 2007 will drift over the 200 degree mark regularly then will move slightly below. About 18 mos. ago while in Fl. noticed it drifted up to 215 or so and after a couple days took it to a dealer and turned out to be a bad water pump. Just keep an eye on it but at 203 I'd say it's normal.
