    Dimplex bf8000st Fireplace issues

Yep, thank you I figured it out. Took it off "very carefully", they used quite a few wire nails on it to hold it on. I used some car trim removal tools of varying sizes to get it off.

    Dimplex bf8000st Fireplace issues

I realize that this is a pretty old thread, but hoping he is still checking his comments. I have the same Dimplex Model (BF8000ST) in my rig and would like to open it up to do some service on it, as well as figure out how to stop the rattling when the bass is being pushed through the subwoofer...

    Replacement Ladder Standoff

Just an update - didn't have to replace the ladder standoff. The standoff nut was stripped. Replaced it and the ladder is back to being solid and firm!

    Replacement Ladder Standoff

We have a 2011 3055RL Bighorn and one of the ladder standoffs is having a problem. In looking for a replacement, we find that SURCO (don't believe this is the mfg.) is 5" and ours is 9" (thinking this may be a Stromberg Carlson ladder, but the body connection plate piece to FW does not look the...

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

We will have to eventually restring one of the small slide end windows. It broke years back and our local RV tech restrung it for free because he didn't have the right cord and instead used cotton cord. I can put it up and down, but it comes down and up unevenly. Hubby said because the tension...

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

Our eyelets were good, but think that it was strung tight. With the extra string we used, it still holds tension on the night shade and day shade portions.

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

Just wanted to report back that it's fixed. I had printed out a step by step guide I found here on the forum and it really helped. Hubby had it restringed by the time I got home from work, but when we put it up, it was too tight to lift and lower each section, which was strange because he cut...

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

Carl.swoyer - our top rail looks like the one in the video you provided. I've watched this video before, but until we removed the shade I didn't realize they were the same. Thanks!

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

The plastic bar is flat and not a typical casing. In fact, the flat upper bar was screwed directly into the wall.

Day/Night Shade No Spring and Screwed Flat against the wall

The string broke in our large rear window day/night shade. After removing the valance and lambrequin, we found that the shade was screwed into the wall and is flat. It was not on a 1 3/8" box frame style, nor mounted on clips. How do you restring a pleated shade like this? All the instructions...

    Ceiling Light Replacement Glass Covers

In the nine years we've had our Bighorn, we've only needed to contact Heartland twice. Both times, they have been responsive and had what we needed! Fantastic support.

    Ceiling Light Replacement Glass Covers

I'll keep you updated. I just contacted Heartland directly. Next step will be to contact our local RV tech and then determine what we need to do. Worse case scenario, I move a lens from the water closet and put a different light in there.

    Ceiling Light Replacement Glass Covers

I attempted to post my inquiry in the Ask the Factory section here, but it's closed so I'm attaching three pictures of what I need a replacement for. This is the ceiling recessing lighting glass cover. The pictures show the top, bottom, and side views.

    Ceiling Light Replacement Glass Covers

Does anyone here know where to get replacement glass ceiling light covers? These are the round, thick clear, or opaque, glass covers that screw in. We have a 2011 3055RL Bighorn. On a recent trip, one came out and shattered everywhere. We generally hand tighten them every so often, but hadn't...

    Follow-up on Delamination Issue

Several years ago I responded to a posting that is now closed - https://heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/31577-ATF-Bighorn-Skin-coming-loose-in-king-pin-area - I'm reporting back that indeed the adhesive had come loose and there was no water damage. We had a local RV tech remove the siding and...

    Heartland Bighorn Quality

We purchased our 2011 3055RL Bighorn new in August of 2010. The only issue that we've had is the front under pin box delaminated. When we first purchased it, I noticed there was delamination on the front under the storage door, but having never owned a unit like this, I had no idea what it was...

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

The gray underlayer begins to show through. I have photos, I just have to figure out how to post them here. Our RV tech is very knowledgeable and well known in our area as experienced. I'm not concerned about being "taken". He said we can defiinitely extend the time having to replace it by...

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

Agree, but one would think that being proactive is better than reactive. Shouldn't one want to replace it when it shows wear and needing it before it leaks and causes other damage? Water damage is the number one fear of any RV'er. On another note, the front under hang area of our FW (where the...

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

Our RV tech said the roof is thinning in spots so it will need to be replaced in a couple of years. I get up frequently to inspect it and clean it and it looks good to me, but I'm not an RV roof expert either.

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

Good point. We currently don't have a problem, but our RV tech says that it will need replacing in a couple of years and for the rubber sheeting, it's about $7k parts and labor. I hate the maintenace on it - up twice a year to clean it. My understanding is that the PVC and the applied coatings...

    2011 Bighorn 3055RL New Roof - Choices?

Our 2011 FW was purchased new in 2010. The rubber roof is now 8 years old and we know we will have to replace the roof in a year or two. We're looking into a PVC roof and am looking for feedback on this. We've researched the two different applied roof coatings - RV Armor and Flex Armor and both...

    Vent under Fridge

The vent I'm talking about is inside, on the pedestal below the fridge. In the 2011 3055RL model, the fridge is at an angle to the left of the steps to the bedroom. Below the fridge is this huge vent. Our fridge too has a vent on the outside, so it's not the fridge vent I'm asking about, but...

    Vent under Fridge

We have a 2011 3055RL Bighorn. Camping this last weekend with morning temps at 30, we noticed cool air (not a breeze though) coming in through the vent under the refirigerator. We put a blanket there and the inside warmed up nicely (we use a Heater Buddy). We believe this is the fresh air...

What is being done about Towmax Tires

Thanks for the information Jim. These are brand new ST tires put on 7/2/14 and sitting at the dealership to replace the sidewall damage front the OEM blowout. What is being done about Towmax Tires

Yes, according to the DOT, they were manufactured May of 2010 (we bought our fifth wheel, new in August of 2010). So according to the "rules", we were scheduled to have them replaced May of 2015, if every 5 years is the norm. I have to say that we've never had a blowout on the five years we've...

What is being done about Towmax Tires

We purchased our BH 3055RL new in 2010 with the original TowMax tires. Knowing that we had till 2015, based on the DOT, to replace, we were going to replace them this Fall. We visually check our tires and pressure before each trip and have a TPMS system. On July 2 of this year, on our way out of...
