Water Heater Question

When the hot water heater is turned off from propane, do you have to reset the pilot each time. Or does it come on automatically when you flip the switch...Very new owner here...still trying to figure all of this out?:)

PAtty62, I've moved your question to it's own new thread. Welcome to the Heartland Family and Forum. Your Water Heater operates on a self igniting feature when on LP. While using the trailer, leave the switch in the on position for normal use. Keep in mind, you should always have water in the system and in the water heater before using it. When you turn off the heater there is no need to do any reset or anything, just turn it back on next time you want to use it. Happy Camping.

When you are using your trailer you can save on Propane and use the electric feature of the water heater. Your normally paying for electric when in a campground. Why pay for both, unless your boondocking or are running on a 30 amp service..

Normally it will only take about 10 minutes or so to heat your water on propane. What we do on 30 amp is only turn on the water heater about 15 minutes before we are ready to use it. Such as before eating, then water is hot when finished eating. Then we will turn it off when finished such as before going to bed. Then we don't waste propane that way.

Thanks everyone for your help.. This is such a great resource for questions and responses. The owners manual is so vague. We keep our camper at a campground that has electrical available, part of your yearly rental so we dont pay for the amps..Thanks again.
