Time for a change

We're changing seasonal campgrounds this weekend in the Silver Lake, MI area. We're going to Timberlake Campground, which we had to buy a membership to. Saw a few Big Horns as we toured the campground this past weekend.

We have camped there a few times this season since we bought our trailer in July..........and due to the fact we got a free 1 yr membership to the place.
We sat through the "welcome (sales pitch)" and after camping there, we decided it wasn't worth the cost of membership AND the yearly dues you have to pay. Dues are like taxes......they never go down. OF course if we had put down a deposit the first day, we could have received a substantial discount on the membership and dues. Sorry, but I'm not into "impulse" decisions. If we were going to pay that much I would at least expect 50 amp service and full hookups AND decent wifi reception. On a positive note, the grounds are clean with a new pool and rec building. We might go there once more this season for a last camping adventure. Let us know when you'll be there, perhaps we can hook up!

We have to two friends that are there and enjoy it. Also, a whole group of us are leaving our current seasonal campground for Timberlake. We all have Jeeps or dune buggies for the sand dunes, so we wanted to stay in the area. Timberlake is only a few hundred more than what we currently pay and it's a much nicer campground and open year round. The positives out weighed the negatives.
