Paradise Park, McAllen Tx

It's time to head north after almost three months in Paradise Park, McAllen Tx. It was our first experience at living for three months in a travel trailer, in our case a North Country 29RKS LS. The North Country survived us and we survived in the North Country. Other than the shower stall intermittently allowing too much water on the floor all went well. The trailer is more than adequate for two people to enjoy time away from winter. It was a cooler and wetter than normal winter here in the Rio Grande Valley we are told and the furnace kept us toasty on the coldest of days.

Paradise Park is a lively place from Thanksgiving until the end of March. It is a 55+ park with a mix of mobiles, park models and RV lots. There are plenty of activities to participate in and it is close to restaurants and shopping areas. This is a unique park because you can own a share which entitles you to a designated lot. There are dues but they are very reasonable. If you are looking for a park rental lots are available for next season.

We decided up front not to tow a trailer to and fro so buttoning down the 29RKS is on the agenda for tomorrow. It is tied down and skirted and I'll pray no hurricanes come this way. Leaving our home away from home isn't so easy, but it will be fine since the park is fenced and secure.

Hope everyone has a safe camping season this summer.

Re: Breaking Camp - Sort of

Thanks for the info on the Park. We are getting ready to leave Indio, CA next week Thursday. We are already starting to consider our options for next winter and The Valley is on the list. We may try moving around and staying a month at a time in several different areas. You folks travel safe.

The park has a number of people from western and central Illinois areas. I hope you do get to Texas and have a great time.
