New Hydraulic System Upgrade (Leaks)

If you have had your hydraulic system upgraded for landing gear or level up, check all connections for leaks a day of so after the installation. I discovered a minor fitting leak after I had new landing gear installed.

The best way I found to confirm there is a leak, is to clean the suspected leak location with an absorbent towel so there is no visual appearance of the red hydraulic fluid. Work the hydraulic system a few times and recheck the fitting the following day. (Small flashlight is helpful.) If you see more red hydraulic fluid, then tighten the fitting only 1/4 turn and recheck.

Dave,
I brought this up a year ago when I had mine done. Although it shouldn't leak, it is a rolling earthquake, and after a few initial cycles of the hydraulics they may leak.

I'm just glad our aircraft industry doesn't have as many hydraulic leaks at least that we know of)
