Does Heartland use a Smart Energy Management System on its RV's? If not, is it something that could be installed retroactively?

Yep, that is exactly what I am talking about, we just returned from a 6 week trip and most days it was around 100 degrees real temp. and a 2nd AC is in our future if we are going to rv in the summer months. We would need one because not all campgrounds are 50 amp.

I'll bet for the cost of retrofitting one of those systems, you'd quickly adapt to doing it manually. I've never found it a big deal. With 30A service I just run the refer and water heater on propane, and shut off the AC when using the microwave.

We have found that a good portion of the campgrounds have 50a and water. Some do not have sewer. 50a is becoming more available.

As stated above if you have to use a 30a then change everything to propane that you can and then manage what electrical appliances you want to use. It's not that bad, but I am like you. I really want 50a if at all possible.
