Slide out rear bumper question?

Ok we have just picked up a 2012 H.L. trail runner 26FQB with the slide out rear bumper.
Has anyone here used it for a truck storage box on there?
I am thinking I will mount one there for what I refer to as "dirty storage" , chainsaw , oils , gas for toys etc. All the stuff you never like to lpace in your storage spaces in case of spills and leaks.
I believe it holds up to 300LBS but am not sure yet.

Hi eddylives,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

I'm not sure myself, but think the rear slide out bumper or hitch is rated for max of 200lbs. I'm sure some of the other Trail Runner owners will jump in soon.

If there is any question, I would call Heartland Customer Service and ask for sure.

Enjoy the forum and your new unit.

Thanks.....
It was an information overload the day of purchase hehe.
I thought I heard the figure of 300 lbs tossed around and cannot find any mention of it in the manual?

The 200 pound maximum is correct. I will be adding a box similar to the post by Invizatu. I'll be using it for wood and sloppy storage.
