Shocks on my 3400RE BH

I was under my trailer just schmoozing around...I noticed how close the shocks were to the interior sidewall of the trailer tires...were talking less than an inch close..Is this normal? Looks to close too me. I'm just wondering with trailer bounce if the tires will come in contact with the shocks..I didn't see any evidence of this though..You not what they say, " An inch is as good as a mile"..just looks awfully close to me.

I have shocks on my Big Country. I honestly question what good they do in the position they are mounted at. Mine don't seem to rub, but I doubt they are very effective. If I have any problems with them, I'll probably just give them a toss...Don
