low sound on HD channels

2012 3685 unit, 42" Sharp TV on cable or satellite has issues with sound. If it's a "regular" station the sound is fine. When I switch to an HD channel, the sound is very low even set at max volume.

Is there a solution other than the surround sound?

When looking for tv antenna towers try "tv towers USA". It is an iPhone app and gives excellent detailed info about all kinds of stuff.

Edit: it also gives direction of antenna from you, strength etc etc. not only that but in sat view you can zoom in and see the cars in the lot etc.
