New to RVing

Hi we (Lynn & Sherrie) are new to RVing. We recently purchased a 2009 Bighorn 3670 RL and we are in the process of stocking it for our first trip. We have noticed that the vinyl floor in the kitchen is buckling a bit in front of the refrigerator where the roller sits when the extension is in the retract position. Is there something we can do to prevent further damage to the floor? Has anyone else experienced this situation? If so, how did you fix it? We appreciate any advice you might give us.
Thanks,

Welcome!

We just traded in our 2008 3670 for a 2013 3585RL. We were starting to get some wear in the vinyl in that same place. We used a couple of pieces of vinyl we had left from a home installation in front of the rollers when we pulled the slides in. That way, the rollers came up on the vinyl instead of riding on the floor. When the HL techs looked at it at the national rally, they said that was exactly the thing to do. You could try that and see how it does.

Hi Lynn and Sherrie,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

Kristy is correct about the rollers on the strip of vinyl... there is also a commercial piece of vinyl or something that is offered by some rv supply places to help with that also.

Enjoy the forum and ask questions when you need to. The Heartland family is here to help. Also think of joining the Heartland Owners Club and joining us at rallies.
