Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.
That is not unusual to happen. Seems as thou very few black tank level indicators work very well. Usually due to stuff sticking to the sensors. There are several different things that folks do to help clean the black tank that helps. If you search the forum you will find lots of answers.
I am moving the thread to it's proper area also.

When you travel, leave about 5-6 gallons of water in all the tank. Put calgon and Dawn dish soap in all of them. The sloshing action will help keep the sensors clean. If you dont have one....get a clear plastic connector for your drain pipe. You will know when the tank is clean and empty.
BTW, most sensors are very unreliable. Been that way for the 40 years we have had RV's.
