Bed rail clearnace

I recently purchased an '08 F350 4x4 crew cab w/8' bed, 16K Reese Sig. hitch and the 20" wheel option. Am I too high at the bed rails with 58.5" in height from the ground to carry the 3400Rl level.;)

You should have a minimum of six inches of clearance between the top of the bed rails and the 5th wheel. When it is hitched and your coach is loaded for travel, then determine if it is level. A lot will depend on your pin weight when loaded and how much the truck settles when hitched.

I just did some measurements: my truck is 57.5" not hooked up... my 2008 3400RL is 66" at the nose, not hooked up.

Hope this helps. EH!

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like I'll have my clearance if the unit is at 66" and the truck rails are at 58.5". I look forward to placing my order just after the first of the year for a spring delivery. Thanks again.:):)
