RV vs Truck GPS user updates?

Recently bought a Rand McNally RV7710. First one died the next day and second one refused to do an update 2 weeks later so it went back as well.
From that experience I will never purchase anything made by them again.
Looking at Garmin.

I bought a Good Sam RVND-7725 by Rand McNally and so far it has been a good GPS with some nice features.
