winterizing ice maker

It isn't hard to do but they recommend using air. The manual gives detailed instructions. I found that you need to turn the wheel just until the icemaker arm begins to move, then stop and let the icemaker complete the process. Do this about three times and all the water will be out of it. Turn off the water to the icemaker and complete the winterization any way you are comfortable with, air or the pink stuff.

I disconnect the water line on both sides of the water valve behind the access door to drain the water from the ice maker line. Then I blow 20-40 psi air to blow all the water out of the lines. I then pump antifreeze into all the lines after shutting off the ice maker line behind the UDC panel.
