Tire size fitment

So I am sitting here bored at work. Looking up weight ratings on LT E rated tires. I can't remember what size the standard tire is on the Cyclones. Or what the largest OD tire you can run.

But if you can fit a 31.7" tire or even a 32.8" tire then you can get a decent rated tire in LT

Goodyear Wrangler AT Kevlar
265.75.16 3415lbs @80psi (31.7" OD)
285.75.16 3750lbs @80psi (32.8" OD)

Hankook Dynapro ATM
265.75.16 3415lbs @80psi (31.7" OD)
285.75.16 3805lbs @80psi (32.8" OD)

Stick with 235 width. There is no room for any wider unless the shocks are removed.
For that size and 7k axles no less then 110 psi does a proper job.
If a 285 wide tire is required for 3400 lbs I surely do not think 235 tires will run cool enough.

What shocks? Didnt know Cyclones had shocks. I have 17.5's on mine, but I was just wondering if or why people aren't running them. Though it seems that the triple axle trailers have less spacing between axles then the tandems do.

Matt, the Michellin XPS Rib 235 85 16 are 32.0" Dia. They are so close they rub in tight turns, with the standard 33" axle spacing. They are not showing any signs of stress due to this after 11K miles but they are a lot closer than I would like to see. Other than that, they rarely even require air to be added after sitting for several months.

Now I wish I would have done a little more research before I bought the 17.5. I could have bought the 285 and had a LT tire rated for 3700lbs. Then saved $1k.
