Buying a 2015 BH 3570RS and have a few questions

We are soon-to-be fulltime newbies buying a 2015 BH3570RS and towing it with our 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD,4x4, 6.6L Duramax, Crew Cab, Long bed, SRW truck- and are wondering the what/why's when it comes to different brands/sizes of hitches. Also would like to hear what the best stacked washer/dryers are right now. Thanks for having us here-

Hi TheChews,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. There's lots of useful information here along with a great bunch of friendly and helpful folks.

We have the Hensley BD3 Trailer Saver hitch which we like a lot. It has air bags and shocks. It's expensive, but towing is very smooth. You'll probably want either the hitch or the pinbox to have airbags.

We also have the Splendide stacked washer/dryer installed at the factory. If you can modify your order, I'd suggest doing so. The factory will always get the dryer vent hole placed correctly and the overflow drain pan and hose will be installed and placed correctly.

For us we are partial to Pullrite hitches...they completely wrap the pin and cannot open like a jaw type can. We have apartment size, front loading Whirlpools have worked great for many years.

Hey TheChews - welcome to the forum.

I have the Trailersaver TS3 hitch. Expensive, but really nice, with an air bag system. I use a Mor/ryde pinbox and feel my hitch/pinbox combination is a pretty good one.

I use the Splendide stackables. Have had them many times. Only had an issue with one of them. Pretty standard fair for RVs and pretty decent units. Best installed at the plant when they build your unit as they place them in the coach before the walls go in.

Hey TheChews welcome to the forum. We are experienced Heartlanders living in Bend. We are thinking of trading in our 3055RL for a 2015 3570 very soon. Is is your unit on order?

Hi TheChews,

Welcome aboard the Heartland Owners Forum and to the family.

I know your excited about your new toy, but when you go for delivery/PDI, check everything from top to bottom, front to back. Make sure everything, even the smallest detail, works and you can work everything. Take plenty of time and have your delivery person explain everything. Then if possible camp on their lot,, sometimes you can, or close by where you can try everything while using it.

Enjoy your new toy and let us know how it goes. Join us at a rally when you can.

That's brilliant advice- we had never thought about camping on the lot to test it out!
The rally sounds like a great experience! Cheers-

Hello we are buying this weekend in Coos Bay. Very excited!!
Hi,
Welcome to the forum and hopefully to the club. Be sure to sign up for the one year introductory membership, then come join us at the Mill Casino and RV Park just outside Coos Bay at North Bend. We will be there 7/11-13, then stay throughout the RV Jamboree the next weekend that will be hosted by the Mill. Then, we pack up and head for the WA rally! We would love to meet you and have you at one or more of those events. Rallies are probably the best way to learn more about RVs and make friends in the process. All of the rallies are listed in the Events tab at the top of the forum pages.

Again, welcome!

Well,,now the wait begins,, one of the hardest part of ordering a unit. But it will be over before long.

But I need to warn you about some other things that may affect you while your waiting. You will see changes to units that other folks have made while lurking around here on the Heartland Owners Forum,,, you will probably get mod-i-des,,,will not be a very easy thing to cure until you get your unit and make a mod or two.,,, Now also once you start using the Bighorn and attending rallies.. this is the worst thing that will happen to you... you will get RALLIE-I-DES . This is not curable because every time to go a rally you will meet more of the best folks and eat the best food. It becomes a ingrown habit and is just not curable. But it does nothing but lead you to great memories, good friends and good food. So just enjoy it! :)

We suffer from both of those conditions! We find that allowing them to take over a few times a year really makes us feel better.

The Chews

Even though you won't have your new home until August, feel free to drop in at our rally or during the time between our rally and the Jamboree.
