Lug nuts

Are the lug nuts covered by a chrome sleeve? If you hold the lugnut with your fingertips they feel loose but if you put a wrench on them the torque is good.

I guess I had never touched them without a wrench before. Just seems odd to me. Torque is good but a little wiggle feel to the touch.

Is it a chrome nut cover or do I have a odd problem?

Yep. Covered lug nuts. Replaced all of mine with solid chrome ones from NAPA.

Same issue. Feels like a chrome cover over the lug nut.

After swapping out tires and wheels today I can officially say covered lug nuts. Stainless steel over base metal. Some of mine are cracking from age and or removal. I'll replace them as well when I get the opportunity. ED.
