Well we finally have the Cash to go and get our Big Horn 3600RL. But I have spent many hours reading the Heartland forum. I must say I'm a little concerned in the comments on the QC from Heartland. However some of the post go back several years. I guess what I'm saying has the QC improved thru the 2008's. If we close the deal ours will be a 2009 and I know they aren't that many 09's on the road yet. Yes I also know we will have some problems but we are a 100 miles from the selling dealer? I will say none of our other 5th wheels ever went back to a dealer except one. The problems we had we very minor. However we did make a two trips to Goshen to the repair center and had a great experience. Just haven't totally been convinced on the Big Horn??? Need some remarks that are a little more positive. GBY...

Delaine and Lindy,
Ours is a 2007 and we have had very few problems with it. We have not had to take it to our dealer in Knoxville. There was a problem that could have been repaired locally by Lippert, however, we decided to take it to Elkhart for repair by Recreational Specialist. I belive that Heartland is producing better products today than in 2007. From what I deduct quality has improved as Heartland gained experience. We hope you enjoy yours as much as we have.

Since we are going full-timing later this year we have decided to sell our rig and get a Class A (perferably a Tiffin product since they are near us and we like dealing with Bankston here in Huntsville.

May see you down the road,

Hi Delaine and Lindy,

I purchased an 06 model 3055RL in 06, and believe me, there were lots of problems with it, mostly quality control and generally small things. But my dealer worked with it, and me, and things begin to look better.

I traded for an 08 a year ago and the quality control is so much better. Overall fit and finish, quality of materials and all around feel is better. When I go inside now, I am not looking to see what is wrong, I am looking to have fun on my camping trip.

Have I problems with the 08? A few very small items, black tank slow draining,(found tank cutout in it). Wiring to TV from bedroom to Living room, (wire pinched). A few little things, but nothing to keep me from buying another one in a few years. Regardless of your dealer, I feel sure that Heartland RV will make sure you will be taken care of, if you do have problems. But like any product, car, truck, tv or rv. Go to your dealer first and work through them if you have a problem.

I hope you join us as happy Heartland owners.:)

Delaine and Lindy;

Something that hasn't been touted on the forum is that Heartland has put on a Quality Control Supervisor and a staff of QC assistants. Since that addition, many of the issues that you read about on earlier models have ceased. Another item that I feel is noteworthy, is the support that so many of the owners have received directly from the Heartland Product Managers, Engineering, Customer Service, and above all, some of the owners of Heartland. Most of us that have been RV'ers for a number of years have never experienced this type of service from a RV manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

Delaine & Lindy,
We have one of the first 2008 BH and one of the first 3370's. The issues we have had with it have been minor in nature and mostly cosmetic. Two of the issues, 2 sprung cargo doors and a blemish on the refrigerator grille, happened at the dealers lot, not from Heartland. The leak I dealt with was handled to my satisfaction by the factory and my dealer, quickly. Had I not been able to get in to my dealer, Heartland would have authorized a local dealer to do the repair. We are 170 miles from our dealer and they have been great to work with. They have had a list, order parts and then we take the trailer in and have it done in a day or so. There has been no problem that would have kept us from using the trailer, and we have camped in it all through the winter.
I expect to buy another Heartland when we buy another.
Although I believe every unit will have it's share of minor problems, I feel that Heartland is one of the few companies that really cares about keeping it's customers. I came out of our leak issue very glad we had chosen Heartland. They helped turn what might have been a major issue with another manufacturer into a minor inconvenience for us.

Delaine and Lindy,
First off, good for you doing so much homework before you buy. And paying cash will lend itself to getting a really good deal. I hope you have priced your rig with other INTERNET dealers.

Anyway, we have a 2006 Bighorn that we bought off the lot and really like it alot. However, I have been very busy looking at a possible upgrade to either a newer Bighorn or possibly a Landmark. We have had our share of issues in the past but anything that has ever come up has been dealt with and very well I might add. Heartland has been very good to us in getting any issue we've ever had taken care of. It is because of this that we, when ready, will upgrade to another unit with them. Because of all of this, I have been studying their units very closely and can tell you that there is a definite difference, for the better, when it comes to quality, fit and finish compared to 2 1/2 years ago. This is of course my personal opinion but I have spent alot of time and effort looking at these coaches and also have sent many emails to Heartland directly. I have visited the factory a few times and spen alot of time here on the forum. I have said it before and I will say it again, I would absolutely buy another Heartland product.

I feel very confident that you will not be disappointed with your decision to purchase a Heartland product.

Good luck,
Mark

Don't panic. Heartland is very good about working with any issues. As everyone will confirm, You can't build a house and haul it down the road without some problems. The small number of issues will be in every manufacturer. The difference is how they are addressed by the manufacturer and dealer. That's why you'll see factory folks pop-up on the forum. The free flow of information on this forum will also help you with solutions. Have a great time and have no fear!!
