North Trail - Electric Tongue Jack for 2015 North Trail 28BHS

I am trying to find out what weight Electric Jack I need for my 2015 North Trail BHS. I assume 3,000 lbs would be enough but I want to make sure. Also are there any particular Electric Jack you would suggest to install or not install?

What is your tongue weight? I think it is 700 to 800 pounds.

Don't forget. If you have a weight distribution hitch, you will need to lift the back of the truck too.

You can get a 2000 lb one off e-bay for under 100 dollars. My friend got one and is a nice jack. Shipped out of Ca.

Here's the one I used on both my Edge and North Trail 26LRSS. I got it a little bigger than needed as I figured it was easier on the motor and gave me the option to move up. Easy to install. All you need is a couple of jack stands and a couple of wrenches. Make sure you have a good ground.

Previous trailer that I had started life with a 3500 it failed while under warranty. While waiting for the dealer to send me a new one I bought a 4500 Husky with a remote control fob.
    See jack here http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/for/5462547586.html

Ii put the new 3500 jack on the trailer when I traded it in.

Regardless of the weight capacity you decide on, be sure to check how the jack is manually operated, should the need arise. Some require a special crank fitting, others use a socket wrench fitting. I prefer the socket wrench type.

    Two other considerations.
    1. Power head size. Clearance with the tailgate may be an issue if the powerhead is very big.
    2. Stroke length. Too short and you may have problems with getting the WD hitch hooked/unhooked, especially on un-level sites.
