I've had that date reserved since high school... I always go camping the week of my BDay.

I hope to save $20 next year. Maybe we can have another BBQ Fiesta???

Thanks all that have responded before a venue is even picked! The hardest part is finding a nice sized park, full hook-ups, pull through sites, with a decent rally hall facility. If you know of one in the West Texas region, please send me a PM.

Sadly, state parks are not good venues due to their limited reservation policy. They cannot not block specific sites off for us.

Erika,

We are seriously considering attending your rally. We like to head south for some warmer weather in the late winter and that would give us a great opportunity to do so. We may stay until May even as we have had 3 snowstorms in April of 8-18" of snow. As I am typing this we have 8" on the ground now and have had freeze warnings the last 2 nights. Tomorrow we head for Albuquerque for the New Mexico Rally and warmer weather.

Just an update, we have a venue in mind that would be near the big bend area. I am trying to work something out with them but we will want to visit before we commit to the location, which may be June before we can get out there.

Erika, from your facebook entry can I assume that the Lost Alaskan is it?? Of course we are in, that is a great area and what us west Texans consider west Texas!

On edit: 230 miles from San Angelo.

Mike, yes, the post title just updated, so all should now see.

It's official, the West Texas Chapter Rally location is set! Alpine, TX, the gateway to Big Bend. We are visiting RIGHT NOW! We are looking at options for things to do and see while you are here... we've already eaten some good mexican food, pizza, gourmet food-truck hotdogs, and tasted the local craft beer. More details will come!

See post #1 for location and more info about the park.
